SR20det Brian Crower Stage 2 Cams

hey guys, i got the cams from my friend, but wondering if running these with stock injectors and stock ecu would be ok. i already have the valve springs and retainer from BC, but not sure if it would be ok to run them on stock injector and ecu.

if not, any advice on what to use. thanks

When you look at their website do you see the part where it says requires the valve spring kit along with retainers?

It's on there. The factory ecu isn't made to cope with those cams, but you can run it if you want to. It won't give you the performance you're looking for though.

it says not required, but recommended. i know i can run it on a stock ecu, but i'm just worried it will lean out to much etc etc. gonna save up for a chipped ecu or a power fc, but wondering is it ok to run it like that for a while till i can get the power fc etc.

IF you break a spring that's at LEAST 11 years old, you're gonna wish you changed them out.

Oh. Yes you can run those cams on a stock tune. It won't run very well though. It's not going to be the performance you're looking for. You're not camping redline are you?

It will be fine. I ran cams on stock injectors/ecu with no problem. Car even felt a little peppier. my wideband didnt show any difference through the power band.

I hae 2 other friends i installed cams for. One stock ecu, other on a SAFC with stock ecu both stock injectors and the have had no issues. Just dont go raising your boost to something crazy.

I dont know about the SR20, but, the KA BC stage 2 cams degreeing them is reccomended. But the stock ecu and such should be fine. Also degreeing them youll get the best result out of the cams powerband wise.

rican_nick, what do you have your boost set at? on stock t25? i'm gonna run it on the t28 trying to push for 12psi on 550cc injectors. pretty much on stock ecu and my buddys safc till i can save for the power fc or nistune.
