SR Swap Emissions question!

Hi, I live in Pennsylvania. We recently got emissions requirements here, so any post '95 240 must have an OBDII engine. As we all know, the sr20 is OBDI so a 96+ car with < 96 model year sr20 will fail emissions.

Does anyone know how it works with an S13 with a swap? Since the car is OBDI (and so is the engine), is there any possibility of failing emissions? I dont want to pay for a swap and then not be able to drive it

Thanks,
jason

Youre in PA? Update your profile...

Ummm as far as I knew they could only enforce that with 98+ vehicles...

Is there a SR (s14/s15 SR20) equipt with OBDII? If so swap the harnesses and ECU...

I was trying to buy a 240 with an SR20 also, the 240 the one i want to buy is an S13. But my ... resources were saying that even then they wont meet emitions. What he advised to do, is to get the car registered in an area with lower emission standards. In Virginia he basically said n e where BUT NOVA. He was gonna turbo charge his 96 and said he was gonna get it registered on his college campus... I dunno if that helps n e or even makes sence... But im just trying to help....

oh and ps... how do u track certain posts... cuz im use to the Midatlantic240SX.com forums and it just seems more user friendly.....

In pa, unless you're in/near a major city, you only have to have the basic components looking like they're ok....they do a visual inspection for egr, cat, any equipment your car originally had. with an sr, as long as it has the same stuff on it there should be no trouble. if you live in pitt/philly/hburg things are different....
