s13 Weird Noise

my 93 coupe has been making this noise only at 3k rpm.This shit has been buggin the hell out of me so if anyone can tell me what it could be... Thanks

Sounds like something in the interior, or could be exhaust hitting against the tow hook if you have an aftermarket 3" or bigger.

Big possibility of many things...


Do you have headers, any aftermarket exhausts ....etc...?


Did you check to make sure the fan is not brushing up against some wires or plastic?

Sounds like from the engine bay but its loud that it might be coming from under I'm not sure can't really pin point the area

Weird, Honestly sounds like a metal gasket busted and its just fluttering.

Might need a 2nd person to rev to 3k while you check under the hood/car.

Yeah make sure you fan shroud isn't touching the fan or anything else at that.... Also check the heat shields on you exhaust system, you said it sounds like it's coming from under the hood or may be from under the car? I would check the heat shield on your cat converter and exhaust manifold, even a small crack on the heat shield will sound like that.

Oh and if you did any work under the hood, make sure you didn't leave any kind of tools or screws.
