We have done multiple gt2871 setups with this setup and hit 400 hp with a good power band and the intake helps up top.
We see lag problems when using BC 264s because early intake cams were built a good number of degrees retarded and needed a cam gear and setup to be properly timed. Once that was done they made good power.

This is what I have so far..

GT2871r
Greddy intake manifold
Spec Stage 2 clutch (should be fine?)
Power FC
Nismo 740cc injectors
HKS 264 Cams
Greddy FMIC
Intake
Head gasket
ARP head studs

(Could I get links to where I can find the last 4?) Can't seem to find anything nowadays.. -_-
Thanks!

I had my intake custom made. Looks much cleaner than anything else offered.

I have a GReddy intercooler core if your interested. Would have to buy the hot and cold pipes seperate. Circuit sports sells them I believe.

Enjukuracing.com for everything.

We aren't gonna spoon feed you lol

Not sure as to what exhaust, suspension, or wheel setup to run yet, but I'll figure that out later.
And I'll have PSI modify the BOV flange on the FM for the HKS.

Should be an easy 400 with a tune, right?

I'm running Gt2871r .64 and getting 320whp at 16psi

I'm looking to up the boost next summer to 18psi But my inj are 555cc hks. Can i get a way safely with the 555cc or do i need to upgrade to 600-700ish?

You are at about the limit. I maxed(85%) my 560's out at 300hp.

Thanks!
If you go with a Greddy IM I would also go with an n15 70mm throttle body or you will lose a lot of bottom end torque due to slower intake velocities

my gt2871 sounds like it has rocks in it. dude from pure turbos says the roller bearing cage has come apart. he also says its the most common failure he sees with all of the gt series turbos. probably going to have them rebuild it when i get back to cali in a couple months.

Im currently finishing up my 2013 Setup. It consists of:

S14 SR
GT2871R .64
Tomei 740cc Injectors
Tomei PonCams 256/256
Z32 Maf
Enthalpy ROM Tune.

Extra Info:
Splitfire Ignition
CS Intake Manifold Spacer
Running Stock Ex. Manifold

What HP/TQ numbers should I expect? Martin at Enthalpy says I should be around 360-370rwhp, but i wanted to see if anyone has done the same setup as mine and gotten more/less.

So my fully built SR ended up making 306whp 271wtq at 15psi because detonation issues prevented us from going further.

Needless to say I'm pissed off and disappointed.

But the good news is my peak TQ is at 3500rpm, so the tuner tells me. I'm not there so I can't contest. Still waiting on a full dyno pic. From what I see the TQ curve is gorgeous. Shoots up and straight across super early.

EsChassis, if it's a conservative dyno and you are running a .64 housing, that isn't all that far off. You might get another 40 to 50 hp at 20 psi, if cooled down. Maybe you had inferior octane of fuel, maybe it was heat soaked.

I'm blaming the 76 station 91 octane from LA. It's shit gas.

I checked out the sheet, full boost (15psi) at 3200. Peak torque is at 5500 but at 3500 it's already at 250wtq. Peak HP at 6200. Not to bad. This engine has so much more potential in it. I can't wait to drive it for awhile and then do either methanol or E85 with some JWT C2 cams over these S3s

C2's are a bit much, a 275 duration cam with a ton of overlap. Would be great with an N/A car but I think it would fall flat with a smaller turbo based setup like the 2871r.

I'd consider S4's or C1's for a larger turbo cam with the T2 based setup. I've often considered trying S4's in my personal car just to see, maybe I'll post up a WTB add to see what's out there, as it takes no time at all to change cams.

For the record I just shipped off my complete GT2871R external wastegate setup.

I will miss it, but the next setup is so much more capable that it don't think I will ever miss it.

Judging from a bunch of other .64 and .86 2871 dyno graphs, I have a pretty ballsy set up up with how my powerband is looking.

Picking it up tomorrow. Lets see how she does.

I was thinking S4s but I want somewhere in the 12+ lift range.

The more I look into it, the more I see how stupid responsive this is. My T25 built set up didn't make power this early lol

When I moved up from my .64AR 2871 I really missed the low end responsiveness.

I changed from 264 12.0 cams to Tomei 256 11.5 and really didn't notice much of a shift in powerband.

Yeah I was about to say. I want that setup. I need a retune badly. My tune came out to crap.
PICS!!! Who was your tuner again?

Depends on the tuner really. This tuner, Mitch, is Rhys Millens tuner, also tunes for Cosworth and other race companies all over the world.

He's made 280 duration cams on JZs smooth as stock at idle but pull 800+ from them. He's a wizard lol

S3 vs s4, what's the main seat of the pants difference? I want the most useable power possible, on a 2860 or 2871, which is the most streetable cam to go with?

15 psi doesn't sound like much at all. Still on stock pistons?

I'd be looking for some other problem like lots of blowby or something causing lots of oil in the intake.

Nope. CP pistons 87mm. Skirts and tips are coated with that hi temp shit. Can't remember what it's called ha

He said mechanically this engine is solid as a rock and bullet proof. No blow by at all.

Will be tuning my SR with 2871r .64 this spring with Haltech PS1000. Intake, Cat Back, FMIC and 555's. no cams, metal hg or studs. Right now i am using hks actuator at ~14psi. i have a turbosmart MBC that i was using with t25 (but not right now) but was considering upgrading to a boost control solenoid when i tune the haltech. is it obvious that a solenoid will provide more accurate boost control, even if it is only a few lbs over wastegate pressure?

how much boost should i be going for with a relatively stock motor? or is this something that can only be figured out once on the dyno?

Power that low is certainly nice to see, in fact my car is makign similar torque there. However with detonation issues I'd be concerned and or at least cognizant of how much timing is jacked into it down low to make it come into the power like that on 91 octane. Just keep that in mind for sure, as sudden torque onset can take a bottom end out in no time flat, especially on CA pisswater.

JWT now makes S3 and S4 High Lift Cams. S3HL = 11.6078 lift, S4HL = 12.2936 lift

Of course more lift under the arc/curve = better, especially if you can keep duration to a useable time

To me those are still the cams to run, as it has a lower duration. Those C2's are a big knarly cam that I'd probably only suggest or run with a high flying N/A setup or a large frame turbo runner.

Hehe, I'll probably keep them on my shelf just to make sure I wasn't making a mistake. I still really think the S3's are going to be better, but more and more of the FWD guys are opting to the S4 (S4HL now obviously) cam for the 28RS and larger turbos. Not saying they are right, but it's super hard for me to look past S3's as they have kicked ass in many a turbo nissan for 15 years now
