Period correct mods...
Im looking for some opinions on what period correct s13 parts I should be looking for. Stuff like old omari gauges, old hks evc's etc. I want to put this car together like someone would've done in the 90's.

sooo outdated electronics?
why don't you use 90's exterior styling, but use the better electronics they make today, rather than spending a fortuned and looking forever for stuff that does not work as well as stuff off the counter? your car, it's cool. just makes no sense to me. |

Im not making this a rule of thumb for the way I want the car done but I do want a couple pieces. When it comes to tuning it would be power fc or the like but some old gauges and stuff wouldn't hurt.

I feel you on this. What I say for the most part is "dress your car for its age". I don't know anything exactly on your topic though. I like old school parts on old school cars.

I think you should find a period tape deck player. It will be the hotness.

I hear you, i always thought it would be very cool to do a mid 90's themed S13. Old school HKS gauges all older/rare parts on it. basic and simple.
best bet is to search the classifieds here everyday. get good with Yahoo Japan auctions and ebay. Good luck.

I had a few of the old style Nismo Gauges...
Tomei Triangle Bar Tomei Steering Wheel Tommy Kaira Grill Thats a good start... you can also search the forum for Threads like Rare s-chassis parts and S-chassis easter egg search... Good luck finding anything from Sealazone, Kids Heart, or most of the real originators of the S-Chassis -Drew |

I like how they inserted the sounds of the ticking clock when the chick had a digital stopwatch. And the way they looked at each other like they were in those old mentos commercials. WP

Started Going this route with my skyline when i first got it. So far ive got Nismo NS5R wheels, steering wheel, strutbars, shift knob. missed out on a set of 400r seats, kinda bummed me out.
I looked forever for nismo gauges and couldnt find any so i picked up old HKS amber ones Car came with a Profec A boost controller with an overtake button lol Advice for you is seach the easter egg and rare parts thread, and search alot, some parts are easy to find and can be quite cheap. more sought after parts take a while to find can be real pricey.

the only problems with some gauges are when the sensors go out and trying to find parts for the gauges. lately i saw some old school tomei gauges for sale but damn they are expensive, about $350 a pop
