RHD 13 Vert Build

Hello Zilvia, heres my build thread hope you guys enjoy. I purchased the car from Long Beach California and got it shipped over to my home in Chicago. All local 240's in my area are rusted to shit and I wanted a clean shell to start off with. I was very satisfied when It arrived and it only took about 6 days to ship which is pretty damn good for a 2,100 mile trip. No rust or damage anywhere on the body

Last moments before getting shipped to Chicago

Then there was about a 6 day wait and at midnight she arrived!

July 2013 Couple of my friends helped push the car around the block into the garage

The following morning a few friends came over and we got to work. First the carpet was torn out and thrown away along with many other interior bits that were in poor shape. The whole car reeked of weed.

That fitment

Few days later decided it was time to pull the motor.

Dirty as fuck engine bay

Here are some pics of the old motor

Decided it was time to give the engine bay a new look

Power washed and clean!!

Preping for paint

Primer]

Next Step: Flat Black

Final Step: Clear with purple flakes

Replaced some steering bushings

Got a healthy replacement ka24de from an unmolested auto convertible

Now it was ready to get this car running for the first time

Swap was easy and straight forward, but we later discovered that a good amount of the wire harness had been melted So that took a couple of weeks to straighten out and replace

Decided to put some vinyl over the dash to cover the cracks

Also got a grant GT wheel and a circuit sports quick release

Picked up some rotas, spacers, isis blast pipes, and s14 seats [/]

Also resprayed the trunk to match

October 2013 Finally running and driving for the first time

Silvia Parts!

Decided to replace some suspension parts

I dig it man! but that kit... makes me want a kit on my coupe again hahah. I just sold mine not too long ago. Where did you order the kit from, if you dont mind me asking? and how do you like the blast pipes, noise wise and ground clearance wise? I'm highly considering ditching my can-exit exhaust and going with blast pipes, cause I keep scraping mine.

Thanks! I ordered the kit from a shop in Cali, there are a bunch of places that carry the kit. The blast pipes are extremely loud and definitely wouldn't recommend for a daily. It leaves my ears ringing after a long drive. The blast pipes had about 1/4 inch of clearance when I first put them on so I took the car to a muffler shop to raise the exhaust and extend the tips.
Here's a pic of how the exhaust sat before I raised it:

My rocket bunny wing also came in

Thanks for the heads up, glad I didnt drop the cash on it. I have to divulge in the option of raising my exhaust, im tired of cutting it all up on the road build looks great! I'm jelly of the RHD vert, great build choice!

Very nice! Shimrin2 huh?! Gosh there are so many different combinations who knows.. I do know it will have some kind of flake to it. Lol. I went to a painting seminar put on by House of Kolor and got to paint a skateboard deck with Shimrin2. It's an amazing product and like I said, endless combinations!

I personally love molded rear overs. Going to look awesome, especially that color! Any plans on wheels? Or sticking with the battles for a while?
