I've always used 0 gauge for battery cable. 2 or 4 may work fine, but why skimp?

I've always used 0ga w/ a 150amp breaker for batery power and ground, 4ga for engine grounds. Most CCA wire can support a 250amp load while O2 free copper is like x3 the price and supports close to 400amps.
Both are rated substantially more than what the factory or even quest alternator can produce and the starter will draw. I've never hard an issue with this setup. |

0 gauge for power and more than one 4 gauge for ground. I like to make ALL my engine to chassis, battery to chassis, and chassis to gastank/whatever 4 gauge. Socal schassis has the generic kit and i get a few additional pieces of 4 gauge from the home depot
As for a breaker/killswitch its always best to have a breaker, 140 or 160 amp depending what you have for acessories and if you have the alternator upgrade done. I like 2 killswitches as well. one on the cowl for anyone outside the car, and one within reach of the driver. |

I used 1/0 from wire and cable on eBay. Avoid CCA.
Please don’t skimp on this crap. You’d be pissed if your car went up in flames over a shit wire. But you do you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
