__________________________________________________ ____________________

this is how it looked in the AD on car sales... only to find that nither the wheels or bonnet came with it....

After some deliberation with one of my close friend with more knowlege then myself on imports, I decided to take it for a drive... surprised with the power etc i said, yep here's a deposit ill see you next week.

When i picked it up, the guy said he had no idea what was needed for the roadworthy, so removed virtually every aftermarket part and bodykit... and said, here you go man... put it back together...

he handed me a handful of intake piping, intercooler, FMIC, BOV, pod and virtually every piece of aftermarket bodyparts...

I finally got it home, not knowing the car, at night from melbourne to "out the sticks" (4 hour drive) and had a short night sleep...

that weekend i started to temporarily repair the front bar... literally falling to bits in my hands.

So, for the minute, (untill I had a good few hours to glass repair it) I stitched the front bar, cos it was falling apart after trying to navigate my driveway entrance...

replaced the mis-matched stock rear bar with the one I picked up off the guy in doncaster..

Ready for the new intake pipe to be fabbed at my local exhaust centre, the dose pipe was dodgy as...

And finally (with then bonnet popped for the guy) The first niceer shot of my new 180 ;-)

got the "bitZa" intake pipe (between the MAF and the turbo) welded up, as it was poorly made and kept bursting at the silicon hose joiners on friday, ready for the local cruise..

last night I spent 4 hours putting on the Greddy intercooler that came separet with my car... the guy had left out a few important fittings.. so I tried to make do with what I had... anyone tried to stretch a black bit of vulcanised rubber pipe joiner from 2 inch to 2.5 inch...? it can be done... about an hour of elbow grease... i was still sore days after.

finally got it all on, but for some reason the boost isn't breaking past 5psi (with a 16psi boost tee)??? vacuum and boost leaks will be the problem...

Chewies Philosophy: (There was a heap more before this tho)

I put the carbon wing back on to see different styles the car could sway towards.

with the GReddy intercooler fitted...

Rolled my rear guards ... surprised the previous owner hadn't especially with the crazy amount of tyre that was outside the guard. was gonna pump them about 10-15mm but decided otherwise...

Started having troubles with it breaking down under load, thinkiing it was coil packs... realised it was a slight exhaust leak getting sucked into the MAF and totalling the Z32

Sorry for the photo sizes... Really clunky to upload with iPhone via photo bucket
The steering wheel is a deep dish grant classic. Had it for ages.

Had the old one out and the grant classic in, in 10 mins! ;-)

mock up... The center hole in the steering wheel won't fit the horn button. It's the only way that button assembly will fit, I painted the metal surround to match the wheel.

I looked at the state of my tyres and realized that I needed new ones ASAP, so went on the hunt for new wheels...
This was a messy time, cos different people had different idea's, (and they would say that i didnt wanna listen) looked into some Panasports, but the sale fell through. finally it was getting too dangerous driving on the non existant rubber on my stock GTST wheels... so went for a set of Black Drifteks, they look ok, in my opinion, they may be "soooooo 2006", but it was a good starting point.

after wanting to go the whole m ile without doing enough research... bought an itake plenum that was "supposed' to fit my redtop with a 90mm throttle body... found out later it was an S15 one, even tho the guy selling it saID it'd fit.

waste of money, mind you got most of it back on-selling it.

Met a guy at a Dead Letter Circus Gig...

My brother thought it'd be funny to stickerbomb my light whilst I was away on the weekend

I know there's massive guard gap, Tba on front coil adjustment

My mate trialling his new camera...

Cos i didn't listen to you guys, I bought weak offset wheels, and tried to make do...
But this happened when i lowered it...

Just a teaser of what's to come:

There is still about 80 pics to come so hang ten...

So, after alot of thought... instead of colour matching the pearl white that nissan painted from factory for $500 for 2 litres, i decided to paint the whole car with an easily matched colour.

so heres the start of repairing and aligning the front guard.

starting with the smaller of parts, I wanted to see if the colour was what i wanted, and how it responded to differences in lighting conditions.
So we painted the skirts first.

You cant really tell in the pic, but there is a huge difference in how the new white reflects light

Whilst waiting for the paint on the skirts to dry, i asked my mate how hard it'd be to paint the roof black... he grinned and threw me a roll of masking tape...

Some owner before me must have polished the car with armorall or a silicone based wax/polish... so it orange peeled... virtually straight away...

We ended up in the end running more paint, then blocked it back... was a bit of a dam pner on my day...

fitting the skirts as a mock up

now for the bars

Bonnet off ready to remove the 6 or so pock marks

Bonnet underway

the final pic of the car before the major work

The paint

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm shiny...

Nicely roasting at 37.5 degrees... ;-)

First bit of light since respray... you literally cannot look at it in direct sunlight...

Modifying VX commodore clear blinkers to suit.... grafting a set of eunos holders to commo fronts...

I found this on my mates toolbox and hit the roof... someone find out how many 4 door R33 Navans were made!!!!?

was invited to enter a big (400+cars) show and shine in port fairy with two mates...

KIRKs and I had our pic taken for the centre spread in the local newspaper... ;-)

the tinted stock tails.... haters gonna hate. I think it makes it look smooth, and finishes off the black/white.

spaced out.

sorry for shitty pics.

Now this was my donor car i purchased months ago ta take out the gearbox. was gonna make it into a track project, but just didnt have the time.
i chucked on the other bodykit I bought my white 180 with and a set of wide guards I had lying around.

So after finding someone to take it on, and worked out a fair trade...

and scored a sil80 conversion out of it.

now, obviously its a pity that the kit was black and my car is freshly sprayed white... so soon enough I will prep and spray the front... TBA

and I have a choice of 3 grilles, GTR style, clear silvia, and a modded S2 skyline grille. i just chucked on the clear one for the min...

its all still an ongoing project... I have a lip coming in the next few weeks, and my twin Bride stadia's should be on the boat as we speak...

now I'm in desperate need of the two front uprights that the headlights attach to on the s13's!!! can anyone help!!!!?

I splurged on some JdM goodies... ;-)

2x Bride Stradia Low Maxx Carbons.
1 x extra seat padding
front s13 add-on lip
rollcage cross bars
harness bar
side intrusion bars
new grille... (not sure what type, help me out)
s13 radiator/headlight supports
bride matching interior cloth and headrests.

rough fitted the lip i bought...

I cant actually drive anywhere with it on, so instead I’ll have it put aside for shows etc... cant tell me its not low enough now..

A while back I bought a helmet off a mate to do track days with... i didn’t like it plain black, so i did up some possible designs.

and came up with my final design...

so began a project neither my GF’s bro (apprentice spraypainter) or myself had done before....

I decided on a colour loosly based on mazda velocity red.. with an addition of bronze pearl.... i wanted it to really pop in the light.

looks pretty flat atm... but just wait... ;-)

;-)
So then came to masking... looking back now I’d do the process very differently...

now the second stage of paint...

The moment of truth..:
;-/

I wish that I had spent more time aligning the masking decals... was a prick of a job and just got fed up... after all its all a massive learning curve.

watch this space for the final stage of painting. ;-)

Have the brides in... ;-)

and also did some other things too...

dont mind the mess...

shift boot is not quite finished... but have matched the stitching of the seats red thread to the shift boot too...

The vents turned up from Canada, so just gotta make shit work with the vent gauge cluster....

the gauge hoods will probably be coming off now cos it wont match... unless i get real cluey and have the center hood still there... over the vent 0.o

might start that tonight...

now... QUIZ time guys, what are those vents out of..? ;-)

reason I did that was I'm putting aside all my type x stuff, so i can make it a stock looking type x down the track. all my kouki stuff is wrapped in bubble wrap in storage atm for the right day for it to become once again a type-x.

Nice car, agree that Type-X tails would better but thats cool.
Not feeling the mesh in the S13 bumper instead of the grills tho, looks wiggidywack.

Looks like it's come a long way too!

Alot has happened in the last few months...

finally got my Z32 gearbox conversion, (took 7 weeks after paymet to arrive)
scored a bootlip ducktail spoiler.
was given a bride lowmax drivers side rail
tucked my look inside my guard
bought a set of BC BR coilovers (for MOAR LOW)
and matched my steering wheel and sunroof sun-shade all "bride"

just need to wait for the warm weather to his then its full steam ahead

bought a mig, so when the new box is in then I can tuck my exhaust up cos I've already worn through my brand new GKtech flex pipe.

then fix all my guard gaps, then respray of front end conversion!

Well, the wheels i scored needed a fair bit of attention after i stripped the paint off them...

so sent them to be blasted

decided i wanted to paint them a crazy colour for skiddies, but before I did that undercoated them with white

they are 15's

Now before everyone starts banging nails and abusing me cos the car isn't 100% complete, its ongoing... I need to get a week of warm weather to finish painting it.

jumped on the fanboi wagon and ditched my manky interior for:

bought myself a virtually brand new mig for a steal... now i gotta tuck my exhaust

rubbed through my loom in a spot, so tried tucking it

but its pushing the guard out of alignmennnt... any help would be appreciated (without totally cutting and lengthening the entire loom)

recovered my wheel in a strip of black bridematerial i had spare from offcuts of the door trims

its cool cos you can still read the lettering

had to take down a set of wheels and a heap of stuff to melb... had no room, so i improvised

this is a pic of when i was still tying them on....

I had a few more scraps of bride material over.... and so it got me thinking,...

sunroof cover bitches. ;-)

more updates to come...

I had to tuck my brand new GKTech front pipe/flex cos it was grinding on everything.

My New (expensive) toy

old SR box came out easy. (reason for going Z32 is i want more headroom to bump the output down the track)

the fat sister... i hope she can take more of a beating

half adapter plate installed.

Had to chop the floor to acommodate the new shifter. will neaten later.

Hadto massage the tunnel for ease of insersion ;-)

One of the spots that will need a metal cover

first run. without major hassles... starter motor sticks a little on ignition.

Job done... took 15+ hours to get it to properly fit, cos even though the business I bought it off said it was an "easy" swap over, we still had to modify.!
last time I deal with those guys.

So tuesday night, someone totalled my boot. threw a massive rock (the size of your head) at the back window of my 180sx from a moving car at about 3am.
rock drpped too quickly and muched the boot instead, it hit soo hard that the rock bounced about 20 meters away.

I'm still stunned why someone would do that...? I don't have any enemies, or anyone ive pissed off recently..???
