Is there any difference between s14 and s15 calipers and rotors ?

Hi there. Are there any differences between s14 and s15 calipers and rotors ?

I am currently trying to choose a brake upgrade for my s15 which i swapped a s13 redtop turbo engine.Currently i have the stock 1 pot bluish calipers with the thin 280 22mm thickness 5 lug rotors.

(and yes i know about the amazing r33 GTR oem Brembo swap but it is simply out of my budget and evo Brembos need expensive brackets...)

S15 comes with the 30mm 4pot calipers... Pretty much same as front Z32. USDM s14 comes with the the standard sliding caliper. IIRC Some of the JDM S14s came with the 4pot that the S15 uses.

Go for Cadillac CTV callipers amd 350z track edition rotors

Each calliper cost $175 on GM

And the brackets cost $160 i think

I see !

Does the jdm s14 4-pot caliper brakes use 30 mm rotors ? Or are there 4 pot calipers that use thin 22 mm rotors ?

And when i see in the internet rotors that are supposed to be for s14/s15 turbo and they don't say how thick they are but mention only the overall height is 54 mm.Is 54 mm applied only for the thick 30 mm rotors or do the thinner 22 mm have the same overal height ?

JDM S14/S15 4pot should be 30mm which are the same as the Z32/300zx 30mm meaning you can use z32 30mm rotors. 30mm meaning how thick the rotor is. 22mm maybe the factory USDM s13/s14/non 4pot JDM rotor thickness (not sure, don't really care).

There are 26mm z32 4pot calipers (early model Z32/300zx), you should be able to measure it when the calipers are bare to verify if it is the 30mm caliper.

The Diameter of the rotor is physically larger than stock usdm rotors/non 4pot jdm. IIRC Z32 uses 11 inch rotors and oem is like 10 inches.

In the link below, there is documentation showing how to measure the caliper.
http://importnut.net/300zxbrakeswap.htm#compare

ABS has nothing to do with calipers. If your looking for a simple upgrade, just source re-manufactured Z32/300zx calipers, they are identical to the JDM S14/S15 4-pot unless you already have them in hand or can get them for dirt cheap.
