Sounds like the meet went pretty good, I wish I lived closer. Oh well. I have an Idea for the next BIG meet! Buttonwillow Raceway!!!!!!! <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> Or another track somewhere fairly close to the bay area. Lets DO IT!.

How about eframes? That's where I put all my pics from the 240sx Convention. Its free, you just need to register. I'm not sure how much space they give you, but I plan on abusing it as much as possible. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> Eframes - Picture Hosting -Aaron '91 240sx coupe |

Okay, we've just had a meet in Milpitas. Would you people like to move west or north for the next meet? Clockwise or counter-clockwise around the Bay? (We'll get to Stockton and Sacramento and other places eventually.)
By the way, at the August 11 meet, 42 people submitted their e-mail addresses for the mailing list, which should be up in a week or so according to Karsten. Just thought I'd let you guys know. =) Edit: One more thing. I wanna thank Jeff, Ben, Bob, and Pat for helping me replace my car's damaged lower control arm and tie rod. And many thanks to Mike from Stockton for the S12 wheels. |

your welcome. so how did the repairs go? did everything fit o-k? install pics?? hehe
hmmm i say go west. i dont see much of a point in having a meet in stockton since stockton sucks and theres nothing to do out here haha, but hey if theres a high demand, we can find something to do in the area...well maybe by the time we rotate clockwise to stockton there will be more fun stuff to do, haha...yeah right.... hey Greg with the S13 hatchback from stockton, are you on zilvia at all? i think i saw u driving today but i was driving a 4Runner from work hehe. Bill, how about Laguna Seca!! that would be awesome. ive never been to buttonwillow, how is it? i know thunderhill is an awesome track, but its pretty far north...hmmm maybe we sould all pitch in and buy our own patch of land and just make a huge skidpad haha, or put a few islands on it to drift around like Ebisu circuit in Japan, i saw it in some Option videos haha it looks like fun. hey if i win the lotto, i'd do it for you guys! -mike

Oh we ran into a few problems here 'n there. The damaged lower control arm had to be sliced to get the tension rod off. The tie rod was a pain in the ass to remove from the rest of the gear assembly, especially with the little lock thing holding it in place. Etc etc etc. But after about 5 hours of work on Day 1 and 10 hours on Day 2, we got it all done. =) I just have to get a wheel alignment done, which I've scheduled for tomorrow. And yeah I got some pics. More at: www.norcal240sx.org/events/images |

I think y'all should move up to SF for the next meet. *grin* Then, I could care less where you have the meet, as long as it's within an hour of SF. *grin* Ooh, I know! You could do SF, Then DC, then Oakland... *grin* No really tho, do SF next... i'm sure koto will agree. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> |

Hey Jeff, how was your track day at willow? We want details!
There is another open track day at The Streets of willow ---> Here I would kill a man to race on Laguna Seca! <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/lookaround.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':look:'> That would be sweet. I wanna try Thunder Hill to. I hear ButtonWillow is pretty cool. I think we should all check it out. Or just buy a huge chunk of land and make a track like mike said. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

I'm sure Koto will agree that the last meet at SF (Ocean Beach, I think) SUCKED! If I remember correctly, a total of 8 people showed up. Two of us (including myself) were an hour late, and three were two hours late. Haha... But that was a poorly planned meet and no effort went into getting the word out. We've learned our lesson. But sure, we can do a meet in SF. Mmm but how about someplace south of San Francisco first? Like around Redwood City or San Mateo? (That way we can literally have meets "around" the Bay. :P) The only place I can think of is Malibu Grand Prix. Anyone know any other good place around that part of the Bay? |

Bill- The track day was cool. It was a long day. I left the Bay Area at 11pm thursday night because I had my Circuits class final that night. So me, my friend ken, kevin, and rob drove down. Ken has a 98 ITR and Rob has a 97 Jetta VR6. Kevin rode with me, he's got a FC. Well, we arrive at Devonshire Inn at 3:30am and go to sleep. We wake up at 7am and pack up and eat some of the free breakfast they have at the hotel. (orange juice concentrate and danishes) So we get to the track (the big track this time) and go through the usual meeting and checking of our cars. The sessions were 30min each. The big track is 2 1/2 miles I think is what they said. Anyways, I finally found out yesterday that it was 106 down there. After about 2 sessions I realized that my tires were melting. I would come into the pits and make a left turn to back into my spot and there would be rubber tracks w/chunks on the ground. My friend Ken had bad luck with his car. His car had been burning oil for one reason or another and he forgot to check it before he went out on the track. He did about 5 laps and his engine died, he limped back into the pits to find that his car had no oil in it. His car would turn over but wouldn't start. He went and rented a U-haul and towed his car back to the Bay Area. Turns out his car spun 2 rod bearings and broke his crank. So he needs new pistons, rods and crank. His block is thankfully okay. Rob came in on the last lap of the day, as he was coming around the big turn at around 110-120mph he tried to shift out of 4th but it wouldn't come out, he came in the pits and found that his shift linkage had come apart. He lost his counter weight somewhere but got the rest back on and drove home. We left there around 5pm and got home at 10pm.
Whew, that was long. Paintball or Malibu Grand Prix is good for me. How bout paintball in SC, like TAG?

I probably won't go to any more track events this season. My tires are dead and my T/C Rod bushings are dead too so i need to change those. I also got lots of stuff to pay for. Eessshhh.... <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> I need new tires, but i'm not getting new tires until i get new wheels, and i'm not getting new wheels until i get shocks, and i'm not getting shocks until i get sways, and i'm not getting sways until the end of this month hopefully, and i also need my rear STB. lots of $$$ there.

Does SC = Santa Cruz?
Since the majority of 240SX enthusiasts in Northern California are probably from the Bay Area, I'm thinking we should have a few more meets in the Bay Area mainly just to gather members. That way when we have meets which are farther away, we'll have a better chance of getting good attendence rates. The farther the meet gets, the fewer number of people are gonna show up. Same with cost. The higher the cost, the fewer the people. Of course having a lot of members doesn't mean that they'll all show up at the next meet, but at least we'll be able to inform all of them about it. My point is that I think we should save paintball for later when we're bigger. So what do you guys think of Malibu Grand Prix or Q-zar? (Any questions about what those are?) I'm guessing both places would offer discounts for group events. If we choose one of these places I'll find out what kind of rates we can get. Any other suggestions? |

no malibu grand prix. if you want to do cart racing goto speedring. its more professional and you get to pass people and just gun it! theres 2 different rates, $25 for 30 minutes, or $50 for 30laps + qualifying(5 laps i assume) thatd be fun. and right across the street is a gym of some sort, last time i was there there was women volleyball <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/lookaround.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':look:'>
but we can always just go somewhere and hang out. im not a big fan of lazar tag, but im up for paintball. |

Hahahahahahahaha... Well Speedring is in San Jose and I'm trying to have a meet away from the southeast Bay Area. Didn't someone mention a BBQ? Any nice parks on the west side of the Bay for a BBQ?

hey guys well since i'm in arizona now it will be hard for me to get back to the bay. if there is a meet every 1 or 2 months that would be awsome. i know for sure that ill be back in thanksgiving week and we should have a meet then.i hope by then my car would have a FMIC and a better fuel system.but anyways, i think in late sept to early oct would be a good time for a meet. maybe on a saturday afternoon. just a thought <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'> <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

Yes, Santa Cruz Well, if you want to get away and go West. I'm sure there's parks we can dig up. We could go to Santa Cruz or something. Maybe Half Moon Bay?

i think he meant SC village , the paintball park down in corona cali. its near la .....thats a bit 2 far. anyway theres always golden gate park 4 the BBQ. lots of nice areas for that. but most of the time theres overcast and fog so i opt 4 somewhere more sunny more inland. but i cant predict the weather 4 the meet day. if possible could i get a set date if this meet is going to b in september. i have to submit my schedule for work the day after 2m and id love to get the chance to finally go to a meet with my own car. =) |

BBQ would be nice. just find a place with a nice big parking lot. so we can all be in the same area and not spread out.
i dont think half moon bay is that great of a place to go, maybe just for the drive. |

yes SC village is in corona. yes too far. I thought that is what you meant.
If you want a nice park to BBQ there is always Alum Rock park. I have always liked that park, good parking and plenty of Q pits. Just an Idea. Or a community center. I work at one. The park is huge, the parking is enough to fit a large group, but there isnt much to do there. |
