Need Power Steering Help
I got into an accident a while back, and the front right of my 1998 240sx was jacked, so I just get it back today after they replaced the: right- hub, LCA, strut rod, rod link, strut, steering gear+linkage, outer/inner tie rod, knuckle, tension arm, lower link. So all the other work plus the paint and alignment , body work was done. When I drove it there the power steering worked, and it worked even though both wheels were turned opposite directions, Now, the steering wheel is stiff and hard to turn, plus it wont auto-center itself, I checked the PS fluid level and it seems fine, also Im not seeing any leaks anywhere in teh ps lines, so if you could help me out it would be most appreciated, I dont want to have to go in and use my warantee bs, I lost my car for 3 weeks, and I dont want to have to lose it for more time while they take their time fixing it. Please, any help

you could have air in your lines
jack up your front end, turn your car on, and turn the wheel from lock to lock (all the way left to all the way right) about 25 times, then drop it back down and see if you still have a problem. As far as the wheel being centered, any halfassed intelligent alignment guy could make sure your wheel is straight (which is how it's supposed to be after an alignment. Take it back. PS. if this was paid for by insurance claim, complain to your insurance agency and complain to the shop manager. It may take alot of persuasion on your part, but makgic can happen. -Kevin |

still have the problem, moved it back and forth 50 times from lock to lock, and its still very very stiff, also, when Im driving, and I turn the wheel at all, it stays where I put it and wont move back at all, unless Im near the locked position, then it centers a little bit but wont go all the way, need help, Im going to try to take it back to the shop tomarrow, cause they have a 1 year warantee on mechanical stuff, but from what I saw when I jacked up the car it looks pretty normal. Im so lost
