s13 vs e30, handeling, reving,drifting.......
I love s13's but the e30 325is has caught my eye and I was wondering how they match up in drifting, braking, handeling, running costs, reliability, power and anything else you can think of.
s13 vs e30 lets hear it. |

They're ok if a bit twitchy at the limit. They have a stiffer chassis than an S13, bit the rear trailing arms. It's annoying how trendy they are becoming. Bimmerforums is starting to sound a lot like Zilvia these days...
IMO get an E36 M3, they are the next bandwagon car, and actually pretty badass in stock form.

better is e36 vs s14..
sometimes I wish I had just bought an e36 m3.. at least I wouldn't have people coming up to me asking "Do you drift?!".

I personally think e30's feel funny cause of the stupid bus steering angle in it. especially if you end up putting a bucket it. your hands are in an awkward postion. I personally only think they are fun with the m or s52 swap in it. those motors have an awsome sound too and can handle abuse if maintained. I prefer 240s cause the wheel base seems a little easier to control while sliding. e30s are quite twitchy at times. and if something breaks and you are not mechanically inclined to fix it, it can get costly. I would love to maybe one day do an e30 project. but a friend of mine told me to save my money and stick with a 240

I've wanted one for a long time, but E46 M3s are in the mid teens if you look hard now... so I think I will give it a year or two.

Im not sure why so many of you guys are worried about ban wagons.I had my first 240 before half of the douches on this forum. You guys are so worried about trends that you're becoming booty holes. Very few of you can say you were the first owner of a 240. When a person makes mention of another car everyone gets up in arms. Get a LIFE!!! Web bashing and flaming is for idiots.
Thank you to the few people that answered the question. |

I like the topic. Both cars are cool but I think the 240sx is better all around. Anyway, dont let some of the knuckle heads get you down. You need to remember that most of these guys didn't go to college, are afraid of being copied, are 18 or 27 with a bad job. Lol, I cant believe a mod responded like that. Oh well, just understand that this place is for fun and no one should be taken seriously. |

I'd say go for it.
The car is heavier but stiffer. It puts the power down better. It has less anti-squat so it is less prone to over steer. It undoubtedly handles well. Plenty of power options. Just because you like something doesn't mean you're jumping on the bandwagon. A good car is a good car.

I have an e30 and personally I really dislike it now. It cost about 1600 just for coilovers compared to 1000 for decent ones on 240's. If you want to go drifting just get an s13. Parts are cheaper and easier to come by than e30 parts. It does handle well though even after lowering it a lot.
Matej, you don't like me anymore bro?

I've drifted a couple e30's. One of them had the 325i motor and the other had a KA24DE with a turbo. The one with the stock motor felt front heavy but it still rotated nicely and was fun to drive. The KA-T powered one just wasn't set up right to drift with that much power and 205's out back. I would personally throw an SR in an E30 or some other 4 cylinder turbo motor with wide fenders and fat tires out back.
