Bc 264 cams

I've got a set in my s13 se and I've read bout how some people use cam gears while other don't. I'm trying to set the timing on it and I'm curious if I'm doing it wrong. I've got the black links lined up with the corresponding dimples on each cam. And the keys are at 10 and 12. Cas is lined up on second dot and crank pulley is on second line from left. But when I fired it up it runs like shit. So should I invest in the cam gears? Do I need them?

I thought it was more like 10 and 2. Your first lobes should be point away from eachother

for the record i dislike bc cams, but i never had a problem setting up or installing their 264cams.
It looks like the exhaust cam isn't correct, maybe turn the camera horizontally, and get both cams at the same time. And get a picture of the lobes from above and in front.
Also get a shot of the crank marks.

You could remove the tensioner, adjust the cams, install tensioner then cas.
You could also get a degree wheel and see if you need cam gears, but mechanical timing still needs to be correct, unless your just trying to band aide fix it.

try the edit button, also exhaust cam still looks off, and the other pictures are missing.
shoot from an angle down, you should be able to get the lobes in the shot as well, unless you're using an iphone.

And the crank, also remove the cam angle sensor, showing pre install config. You are using a timing light to set it to 15deg btdc, correct?

So this is what my cas looks like lined up. Lined up with the dot on the right. Then when it's pushed in it lives up with the other dot. And what do you mean I respond like a bot? Sorry I'm running back and forth to the car when you guys respond

I'm gonna be honest first time I've done it on a sr20. But what I've been told and what I've read is to unplug the tps rev it to like 2-3k then plug it back in. Then use a timing light to set the timing while turning the crank
