Using Consult and ECUTalk, O2 sensor not showing voltage?
Hello,
I tried 2 different o2 sensors and both show 0 voltage via ECUTalk. I am showing a code of I believe 41 for IAT sensor, but my MAF doesn't even have one. That is where the 2nd plug is supposed to go is it not? Could these be related? Thanks!

you might want to give more info, like what chassis, what engine, etc.
i'm not sure if any s-chassis came with an IAT sensor, my brothers 01 frontier with dohc ka24de had one, it was in the plastic air intake box BEFORE the oem air filter. |

Ok...... Look at the ecu, find out what # it is.
Use the google to get an ecu pinout. Look on said ecu pinout. If there is a terminal labelled "intake air temp sensor" then you have an intake air temp sensor. Test it and replace/repair as necessary. Or just look at the air filter box and attached tubing/ducting and see if there are any sensors in it. |

Try the free version of Conzult as well, I've never had much luck with ECUTalk for some reason
In regard to the IAT, it's the little bitty sender on the intake, IIRC two phillips head screws hold it on. I don't believe it has ANY function other than being operational/present and not present (light or no light).

i am no expert , but have you reset your ecu/ecm , if not do that 1st , manual or automatic tranny .
the iat is the round plug close to the air filter , there are 2 there , one is the maf sensor , its the bigger of the two, the other is the iat sensor , its the round one . the iat sensor is a thermister meaning as the temp goes up the resistence of the sensor goes down , if you ohm it and measure resistance it shoud be about 2500 ohm at 68 degrees , just remove the connector at the sensor and measure the resistance of the sensor , if its open ( no resistance ) you could put a resistor across the 2 wires going to the ecu , use about 2100-2900 ohms , the ecu will think the iat sensor is ok. as far as the wiring to the ecm/ecu goes , the iat sensor 2 wires go to pins 63 and 50 of the ecu , if you have a automatic tranny the wire from pin 50 goes to pin 35 of the AT control unit ,this is the ground . google up (Manuals > USDM Cars > 1997 240SX (KA24DE) - Nissan 240SX Performance Tuning ) this will show you the wiring pin numbers on the ecu connector. you will have to click on the left side to 1995 240sx as the pins are different on the 95 . then click on engine control system ec . |
