s13 1990 bone stock ka24e trouble starting up

Whats up guys. My damn ka (5 speed) is having trouble starting up and I think its the iacv? well here is my story

I replaced these parts with brand new parts from autozone fram fuel filter, dephi fuel pump, gp sorensen fuel pressure regulator, DIF iacv gasket (i cleaned the iacv with carb cleaner and let it air dry for 1 hour), ngk platinum spark plugs, ngk wires. I dont know what else it could be. The car idles between 800-1000. Doesn't idle steady it jumps up and down.

Today when leaving the car parked when i went inside the store it had trouble starting up again. The only place (i found so far, havent checked the dealer) that sells a new iacv is auto parts warehouse for 166 with a new gasket. Is there anything else i should check? starter is not the issue either, it was replaced by the previous owner with receipt from autozone (or is autozone the issue lol)

Another thing is the cars idle drops to 500 when coming to a stop. I coast in neutral and car drops to 500. down shift and car drops to 500. AND when I put the car in reverse it sometimes wants to die. The lights dim a bit, idle drops to 200 and then picks back up. Alternator maybe?

Thanks for reading

I had a Toyota with a bad iacv and it would idle high(1500-2000).

I had a similar problem on my first s13. It ended up being a few things. One was a brake booster vacuum leak. The fuel pump I changed out went bad(also was from Autozone)The other was neutral safety switch not working properly. I'd say check everything again.

Does it idle differently with the MAF unplugged? It could possibly be a bad ground.

Did you finally get around to check the MAF, Phill? Reminds me of the first s13 I had, the MAF wiring was bad so it never had proper contact at the connector and it would die out on me or give me trouble starting...

Fuelpump is super easy to replace on a 240...don't sweat it if that ends up being your problem...
