SR i need help pluging in sr stuff

alright im doing a swap by myself and i dont know where alot of things go (please dont flame me) im just trying to learn and i dont really know anyone that has done a sr swap...i took a few pictures of the things i dont know where to plug in...





thoes are some pictures of the hoses that i dont know where to plug into

here are some wiring i kinda have a idea of where they go... not sure


i know that one of thoes plug is for the maf...where do the other 2 go?

im also trying to keep my a/c so i unbolted my ka a/c compressor and bolted it on the SR...only one screw fits right now.. ill try to get another one at least to fit later... but it seems like the hose slightly gets in the way...

can i bend that down? or is it unsafe? or just leave it

i also forgot to add....for the wiring part... i went to heavythrottle alot for wiring info and nissanmag...

i ended up cutting off the ka connectors and soldering them to the sr harness...on the sr harness i have 2 green/yellow wires...and 2 blue/green wires coming out of the ka connectors... what do i do with thoes?

someone correct me if im wrong here, never did a SR swap, but from my rb experience the first picture seems like the rubber hose is the feed line which goes to the top of the fuel filter and the other thing circled is the return line.
2nd pic, vacuum twist around and plug into the metal tube attached to firewall?
first 3 wires are to fusebox?
2nd 3 to tranny?

way further than my swap is going.. still waiting on taka lines for 2 weeks even though he said he sent them..

but on the a/c thing.. the ka compressor fits, but my friend said its not a direct fit.. 3 of 4 bolts with but it doesnt sit even and will eat belts.. not eat them fast, but probably have to change a/c belt everyt 1or 2 years.

1st pic, fuel supply and return hoses.
2nd pic, vaccum of some sort, looks like they had something T'ed in like a gauge or boost controller.
3rd pic, brake booster vacumm hose, goes to large nipple on plenum.
4th pic, wastegate vacuum hose, goes to hotpipe.
5th pic, ignitor and OE boost solenoids.
6th pic, AC compressor, PS high pressure line, MAF.

That's going off what I can tell, check all that and come back if it's wrong.

Okay, first off. For future reference, if you're going to post a series of pictures like that, please label the pictures and the connections. It will help tremendously to be able to refer to number and a letter so you will know exactly which is which. I did it for you this time, but keep in mind so the posts will be more helpful for you

Plus the filenames are inconsistent so it slowed me down a little bit.

u really need the pdf from TEch on this website if u are struggling so much. go download it now before u connect it wrong. some of those are prette obvious thom like the wastegate nipple, ac, heater hose, in/out fuel.
dont ever do anything without a manual, go download it now.

Here's #1. a goes from your fuel filter into the fuel rail and is the supply line. b goes from the back of the fuel rail where the fuel pressure regulator is back to the return hose. What you would want to do is go to your local auto parts store and get a high quality fuel line. Then trim an appropriate length and run a. For b, you have to pull off the line that's on there now because it looks like they cut it in half. It has to make it to your return line under the fuel filter.

It's also a good idea to swap out the fuel filter if it's old. It looks like you have the larger 300ZX filter so stick with that if you replace it. Also, ditch the stupid OEM clamps if you can. Go with the hose clamps you can get at the store. They screw on with a screwdriver or with a socket. Much much easier to work with than the stupid OEM spring clip or screw-on clamps.






For #2, I can't really see where it's coming from. Can you take a picture of the source on the throttle body?


Here's #3. It goes from the brake master cylinder to the intake plenum. Do yourself a huge favour and get rid of that stupid spring clamp. Get the hose clamp like I described above. It will make your life a lot easier when you have to take it out later because as you can see, there isn't a whole lot of clearance under the manifold for a pair of pliers.






Here's #4. Your wastegate is connected to a nipple on the intercooler piping. You can see where the blue hose is mounted on mine. I don't have my wastegate in because I dropped the turbo, but you can see where the wastegate is supposed to plug in. You have a T connection. It probably goes to the control solenoid. I can't see if you still have it or not. Just plug it up if you don't.

Do yourself a huge favour and replace that vacuum hose. It should only cost a few bucks, and is a good idea since the motor has probably been sitting for a long time. The general rule of thumb is your rubber parts usually start going bad after 5 years.





For #5, h is the ignitor chip. It should sit somewhere around the passenger strut tower.

The rest you're on your own. I did the best I can to help you with what I got. Maybe others will be able to help you more.

WOW thanks alot g6civicx!!! sorry about the unorganized picture and stuff...my first time taking pictures and asking about them... also thanks for all the info..ill try it out today

i have a question about picture 4 part G....thats my a/c line from my ka..it seems like it gets in the way... can i bend that part safely?

Go back and take better pictures of the vacuum hose in #2. I think it's the big line from the throttle body meant for the BOV, but I'm not sure. If you have it I can help you more. If you look at my #1', you can see the 2 vacuum lines coming out of the throttle body on top. The small line goes to the fuel pressure regulator. The big one goes straight to the BOV.

There's also another small line underneath that goes to the evaporative charcoal canister. If you don't have the canister then cap off that line.

5i is your boost control solenoid. Your MAFS has to go all the way to the driver side so read the link on how to extend it.

Other than that, there isn't much more I can help you with. I don't know any of the A/C stuff since I don't have it. Good luck.

It is possible to bend the line, however since it's right on the compressor it will more than likely break at the flange first. Try finding a spare line from a salavge yard to practice on.

alright cool thanks... i dont have a camera so ill try to take some pictures over the weekend... i didnt have time to work on my car today so yeah...
o yeah i got to buy some hoses...umm for the hoses that goes to the brake cyclinder...how long do you think i should get? also for the fpr hoses how long do i need? and what other hoses should i replace/need (since im going to a hose store)?

When you to the auto parts store, look for a new fuel filter. Use the nipple of the filter to find the hose for a. It's the same size from the filter to the fuel supply nipple. It should be about 10" max. You can get a longer size and cut it down to fit.

For b, I would just yank out the hose that's on there now since it's already broken. Take that to the store and they should be able to help you find the right size. Remember that it's a little longer since it has to go all the way down below the fuel filter to the return hose.

For e, you can pull the hose off the source at the brake master cylinder and take that to the store. They should be able to get you the right size. You can pull the heat shielding off of the old one and use that on the new one if you want.

I would also recommend that you replace c/d. You can probably replace them with just one solid line since I think that line should go to the BOV, but I'm not sure so let's hold off until you post pix of the source for c/d.

I would also replace f. Just take the hose out and tell them you want just a straight hose. No need for T-fitting since your solenoid isn't there. Your wastegate can go straight to the niple on the IC piping.

ok i got new pictures... i hooked up all the gas lines and the brake vaccum line...
as for c/d picture i took new ones

thats the hose.. and it goes to that little circle in the back

here is a closer view



also...i was wondering for this little canaster...is it safe to remove it? what do i do w/ that line if i remove it?

That's the carbon canister, and I believe the line your circled is the the fuel tank line.

Basically, the line runs from the fuel tank to the carbon cansiter which absorbs fuel vapors. The carbon canister will release the vapors to the intake manifold, via a purge line, where they will be burned up.

I'm 90% sure that's what it is, but I'm in the same boat as you, seeing how I'm working on my swap.

But, seeing as that your motor is illegal and won't pass a smog check, you might as well remove the canister and cap all the lines off.

alright i have another question.... i have a random wire that ran across my engine bay to nothing....the end of the wire is taped up... im guessing one of the previous owners did something to it or something? iono can someone tell me what its for?

started from here


and ended under my winshield wiper motor...

pretty sure its probably remains from an old alarm system.. or something aftermarketly installed (like an alarm or something)

Keep the canister, no real good reason to get rid of it. So you should have a vacuum line from the throttle body to that canister (actually 2 if i recall), then 1 goes to the fuel pressure regulator (where you would tap for a electric boost controller if you have one), and then one to your blow off valve. And thats pretty much alll you need imo.

That black canister is your Evaporative (EVAP) Charcoal Canister. It's part of your emissions control system.

Fuel is very volatile, i.e. it evaporates and becomes vapour very easily. When the fuel tank is under pressure, fuel vapor is captured in the charcoal canister and store there to prevent fuel vapour from leaking into the atmosphere. It is later diverted to the throttle body to be burned off.

The fuel tank needs ventilation. If not, it would cause problems for you, such as hesitation, vapour lock, or possibly even fire.

What I recommend you do is keep the canister for now. It goes to the little vacuum nipple under the throttle body. It will help with emissions. You can figure out what to do with it later when the car is running. The line coming in is from the fuel tank.

heres a site that will help you with your vaccum lines if you need it. it helped me a lot. i would keep the carbon canister. i kept mine. its one less thing to cap off or take off. It can can only help not hurt your engine. i kept mine i just T'd off one line to my bov and ran the other one straight to it.

For the a/c pump. i used the ka a/c pump also. the front two bolts fit on but thats all i could get to line up. for the a/c line. i just took a metal bar and pushed down on it right below the intake until my intake piping fit. its not going to harm the line if your careful. the line needs to be pushed down maybe a half an inch or so, not enough to bend or break that metal line. i havent put the belt on or recharged it due to being in san diego and not needing it yet. but my buddy did the same thing and has ran the a/c a lot and has had no problems.

wow thats a good site!!....pretty much answers all my questions.... man... my motor didnt come w/ a stock bov....where the bov is spouse to be is capped off... and there isnt any aftermarket ones =(.... lol can i start up the motor for a while and test the car w/o a bov? or i should just wait to get one?
