red top problem

i just got done with a motor bulid and rhd conversion and i was driving the car today and my water temp gauge stayed at 250 then steam was coming out of my oil catch can (the oil can inlet is open atmo) so then i removed the radiator cap and the cap shot up about 10 ft in the air and the radiator was about half full and its started boiling i just filled her up and did a oil change any one got any ideas whats going on thanks

"steam" is more likely oil vapors, catch can should be plumbed correctly back to turbo intake

yeahhh that was probably the dumbest moves you could have ever made.

You should NEVER open the Rad cap when the engine is hot!

Its hot and pruessureized when running that why is shot up.

why would you open the rad. if steam is comming out if the oil catch can? those systems dont mix unless the h/g is blown.

it was steam my catch can is 1/4 full of coolent im asking if some one might know whats going on the water and oil is not mixing no water came out of the radiator just the cap poped off and its the 2nd brand new hg i no it was dumb but i needed to know asap if i got hurt it would be my fault.any ways im not a noob to cars i built my entire car i no they dont/arnt compatable thats why im asking this the first time i asked anyone here anyting

check your oil there duder... you surely blew a headgasket - or cracked something. coolant doesnt just END UP in the oil system. sounds like a headgasket to me.
