damn, I need shoes too. No, must save.
The only way that I've ever saved a usable amount of money is by not putting my paychecks in the bank. I have to hide em from myself until I forget where I put em. |

I saved for my turbo kinda like that. I went to a bank that was local in Sarasota (about an hour away) and opened a savings account. I told them no checks, no withdrawal slips, no ATM card. I just mailed a check from my personal account to family in Sarasota and deposited a lot of money. I had no access to cash without driving for an hour there and an hour back. Eventually, I had enough for a turbo.

Good luck
I'm going to do the same thing starting......one week from now. Since I have direct deposit I don't have to go to the bank nor look at my check and fell tempted to take about half of it and go shopping. I also split my check so that $100 every payday goes into saving while the rest goes into checking. This is so I use the money from saving and checking as an emergency. Hopefully buy June/July I will have a front clip. Hey want to hook me up with an install??

Done! Jonathan: Once i get the camp on I'll be able to monitor my injector duty cycle, then I'll put on that turbo with the 7psi stockie actuator. Should be good to go. Hopefully I'll do that after I buy a manny and turbo extension. Put those sideskirts on last night, you gotta see em. It's so nice to be able to put parts on the car then just spray paint flat black, don't have to worry about going to get the car sprayed! George: We'll help you with the install. Contact us when you get closer to buying a motor. We should be able to hook you up with a good deal by then also. |

Thanks it probably will be in the spring/summer.
Oh yea how much are you looking to spend for a full body GOOD QUALITY paint job? So far $1700 is the best I can find...my friend was quoted that on his 96.

So far 700 is the best I've found but that's through a friend. I'm probably just gonna prep and prime it myself and then run it over to maco. You'll find some of the best painters there. They just don't have anytime to prep. |

yeah. maaco and such places do good paint jobs. just do all the prep work yourself, tape EVERYTHING up you dont want overspray and trailer it over there, drop it off and bammo. pick it up later. save A LOT of money doing it that way.
personally i would take it to a smaller shop (after seeing their work-go to those shops that do the paint on those mexican cars and such, those paint jobs are BEAUTIFUL--you know the one with the 1/2 naked mexican lady on the hood) and do the prep work youreslf, drop it off and pick it up later...its the best way. prep work is where the money and labor time is. the actual paint job it self isnt 1/2 as intense. |
