SR Too much fuel when primed/SR20

I'm trying to get my recently swapped SR20 to start. It has the stock FPR and stock fuel pump. I pulled the fuel line and put it into a bottle to make sure it was getting fuel. I turned the key and on and it poured a decent amount of gas in which filled up less than half of the bottle of water. I noticed that gas continued to drip out of the fuel line though until the bottle was overflowing. Is this normal, or is it happening just because I had the fuel line pointed down and it was just gravity? Either way I am trying to get my swap to start. It has been sitting for a few years. New gas, all new wiring harness.

it primes for set amount of time, 2 seconds IIRC.

the system primes to build pressure, since you have an open loop it cant build pressure.

sounds perfectly normal to me.
