not rocket science. NOT MY GARAGE, but i thought the idea of a "garage condo" was cool. and honestly it's pretty "affordable" when u think about how much a house might cost. http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/s...=46593&page=25 Quote:

Wow, that's pretty f'ing sweet, but my girlfriend would kill me if I went with something like that.
If I had millions (or hundreds of thousands of dollars) to spare, I would definitely go with a man-cave like that. Oh well. I'd still be happy with a nice big house and a 3-4 car garage. |

The only thing with the garage forum is that there are too many ballers, well alot of them, our garages are nothing to theirs.... We fix up our existing garages and they build custom ones lol.... I feel like the Honda that shows up to a 240 meet...

I'm getting there with mine... I just hate how terrible the entrance is... This is the SINGLE way I can get in and out.

^ yeah not so easy... The problem is that the garage is just too close to the main driveway (not my build decision) and they just wanted to "blend" it as easily as they could. I would need to bring the entire level of the driveway up. If I tried to "smooth" it out, it would inevitably break up as it tapers out; not to mention I would lose part of my driveway...
See...

ok here goes... don't quote my pics
Purchased the house in 2007, garage looked like this after I got my posters out that way. Then as a couple years went along, dad set me up with about $4000 worth of tools, and after he passed away last year, I got a few more of his. So I needed to get some pegboard up to store some stuff. before october pegboard project after most of the pegboard was up After the peboard... but messy still. This is my other car, parked in British Columbia so I can start my engine build.

^ I disagree, I love my peg board tool wall. Some of us just can't work in amongst clutter...

I don't really know... Two car garage w/ single door and about 3' on each side of the door for extra storage / space for work benches. I'd guess somewhere in the 21' deep 24' wide range.
Driveway entrance is rather weak further down, but not as bad as others in this thread. I just have to take the part where a sidewalk might have been at an angle so that I don't scrape the stupid 3'' HKS exhaust. Here are some pics, car is currently up in the air to get ready for its next track day beating. Semi burried spare motor. Un-useable work bench space. More cluttered space. Kinda useable space for parts storage, bench grinder, and belt sander. Shot from outside, with my 5 flourecent fixtures on. Maybe that shot works better at dusk when light levels are more even between outside and inside. Interior shot at night... Bright enough to work.

I read the thread for that one that was posted. Just to buy the empty shell cost $160,000 (40'x40' space at $100/sqft). After all the interior work and furnishing, the total was about $250,000, not including the fancy Moduline tool cabinets or tools. $160k for just the empty shell seems kind of steep to me.
