my timing issue

Hello gentlemen. So it goes like this. I finished doing a 240/248 cam swap on my 14. But in the process of installing back the cam gears I lost place with the markings I made on the chain and gear. The markings are still there but I can't get that extra slack on the chain I need even when pressing on the tensioner.
So Im guessing my timing is kaput now right?
If so how do I get my precious timing back?
Thank you for your time

-I may be miss understanding your post BUT Ill chime in anyways.
-I just did the timing chain in my car and had to remove the cam gears and chain. I found that when in TDC the exhaust cam natually shifts itself after the chain has been removed. So I had to rotate the cam until the cam gear mark matched the mark on the chain. If you still have all of the markings you should be able to do the same.

Ok cool seems similar then. I just finished installing some 240/248 cams on my ka24de. That's all. I have the cam gears and timing chain marked accordingly. But upon putting everything back together the chain skipped back some teeth messing up my marks. My question is how do I get that slack on the chain back? Because even when pressing on the tensioner it doesnt seem enough.
