Keyless entry remotes sometimes lose their programming
This isn't very common, but it has come up a few times on this forum, and since dealerships charge a lot for this, I figured i'd undermine them and post it: 1. get in the car and lock all of the doors using the drivers side lock switch. 2. insert and remove the key from the ignition more then 6 times in 10 seconds. [at this time the hazard lamps will blink twice and the remote is ready to be programmed] 3. turn the key to the ACC position 4. press the lock button on your keyless entry remote. (at this time the hazard lamps will flash twice again) The remote is now programmed 5. to program an additional remote, unlock and lock the doors again using the drivers side lock switch and push the lock button on the second keyless entry remote. (iirc, this can be done on up to 6 remotes) 6. once all of the remotes are programmed, open and close the drivers side door. Thats it..and you've saved yourself $40
