s14 chassis harness question

i need to replace my chassis harness(the one the connects to the headlight, goes to the fuse box and into the driverside firewall. My question is are all (5 speed model) harnesses interchangeable between s14 years? I have a 95...but will a 98 harness work? can i 98 underdash harness work on my 95 as well? trying to make sure that i don't run into problems again. i bought a automatic wiring harness and it was different. i just want a direct plug and play.

There are numerous small changes per year for on all models in every harness in the car. For example, your 1995 SE is equipped with the OE keyless entry/security. It was an option on 1996 models, not offered on '97-'98s, so the majority of harnesses you find won't have the required wiring. That will mean the plug for the smart entrance control unit is different, and there is no wiring for the hood pin, start interrupt, and flasher control relay.

Another major change, 1995 SEs were equipped standard with the 6speaker amplified CD system, '97-'98s were never offered with it.

There's numerous other wiring differences per year and per option. Best bet is to track down the exact matching harness.

Nissan was/is crazy retarded when they were building body harnesses. There are over a dozen different body harnesses for the S14.

I have never had success finding an identical body harness. There are always some small changes that catch you off guard.

Good luck.
