s14 Is my S14 a 95 or a 96??

I know a lot of you are going to say things like vin plate and stuff like that, but the thing is the car's title is a 95, but when I was doing some wiring tucking, I see that the F4 plug's pin out is the same as a 96. I am asking because I want to fix my driver side window which has not work since about an year ago. I want to think it out what year it is before I try to do more wiring stuff.

Thanks in advance
Jesse

What is on the plate on the door jamb? Usually it has the "built on" date there, which should place you another step in the proper direction

Did you check the door jam? And I didn't know that you had to find out the year of the car before you start wiring?

Damn, I was all set to come in here yelling STUPID NOOB!!!!! and crap like that.

This plug you're talking about is different from 95 to 96? If so...what's your car's history? Is it possible the original engine gave up and get replaced with one from a 96? With the amount of pulling and swapping these cars go through, it wouldn't surprise me.

See if your motorset/ECU is OBDI or OBDII

See if your VIN #'s match up on your chassis/dash/motorset/etc.

your car is a 95, i've tried to research why some 95's have the 96 wiring harnesses, and it doesn't matter about the production date whether it's an early model or a late model some of em have one harness and some of em have the other. i was thinking possibly it could be where they were assembled but that's as far as i went. before i wired a motor into anyone's s14 i'd always check the f4 pinout functions (well you kind of have to anyways to wire the new motor in there).

anywho, you're not the first one, if you're unsure on what you're doing just bring it by the shop or call and i'll see what i can do, since you're in GA

Open the hood. If there's a carbon canister against the core support right by the airbox it's a 95. End of story.

So the 96+ doesn't have it? Where is the fuel tank vented?

EVAP canister, behind the rear passenger tire. Pretty much like all 96+ Nissan vehicles.

Well, I checked all those things that I am supposed to check and it is a 95. I just want to make sure that why a 95 has a 96 F4 plug. I was doing my A/C stuff as well as trying to organize my wiring a bit everyv since my AFC and AVCR install.

Dave, I talked to you a while ago (more like a year). You were too busy and was forced to get the SR swap somewhere else. And thanks for your help.

I have been doing all the work on my cars (S13 before and S14 now) other than the motor swap (no garage FTL). I was going though to hook up the A/C for the car since it is getting hot in ATL (not this week). Then I found out there is two different pinout for the F4 plug which is based on the year, according to the guide.
