Yeah I've known Benson for years. I started autocrossing with Delta in 1995. Became the club RE in 1999, and I've been on Delta's BOD since 1996. I'm sure Benson will make a great RE this year.

I would suggest that you buy a rulebook so that you don't have to rely on other people's memory. Benson does a great job of helping the new autocrossers get used to how autocrosses are run. I guess sometimes things get misunderstood. I know Benson would not say that those arms are legal for street prepared, it's just a simple misunderstanding.

well i copied your post and put it on autoxforum, and benson saw it, and mentioned that you were correct and incorrect. He can only run those RUCA's with spherical bearings in SM or in Prepared classes, not in STU, because it replaces a bushing with a metal bearing

A properly inflated race tire is not squishy to begin with.

I had a feeling you were going to say that, any idea if i'll feel any/to much squishyness on a 245/40/17 on a 17x8 with just a street tire say a es100?

i run a 245/45 es100 on my 8.5s out back. Its not squishy at all, and thats a 45 series tire. You're going with a 40 series (on a 17" im assuming) so itll be quite stiff actually.

I run 245/40R17 tires on 17x8 rim and it's not squishy at all.

well i think ive decided im gonna run a 17x8 up front (and same in back if i can) and probably a 17x9 out back with 255/40/r17 all around. Im gonna get some cheap cobra knockoffs, but alomst all of em are staggered.
