Map Light Install

*SEARCHED 4 pages of google results but no luck*

Anyone ever put a map light into a base model s14? It looks like it has three pressure clips that just hold it against the head liner. Does the headliner have a female end to recieve these clips or do they just hold themselves against the liner with pressure?

Here is an ebay listing that shows the clips on the under side of the map light, looks like there is three on two sides of the light. Makes me wonder if some clips arent missing or apart of the head liner.

I was going to measure and cut the hole in my headliner and make a jumper from my dome light. Anyone ever try this? My car may be wired for it anyway. The first owner ordered an LE but with no leather, sunroof, lsd, abs. It does have cruise, tilt power everything but alot of LE options are missing. I have checked the vin and the manufacturer codes and it all decodes correctly and title clearly says LE.

Id like to do this without changing the hole headliner if the light is held in with pressure versus female clips in liner I should be able to.

Any input is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
