April 14th - CANCELLED - Buttonwillow East loop - CANCELLED!

Hey guys, we're sorry to say this but apparently Buttonwillow confirmed
our event on the 14th with another larger group and have subsequently bumped us
out. We will be taking steps with BW to ensure that this does not happen again.

It's been awhile since we went to the track so we are trying to secure
another date as close as possible to the 14th. The available dates
right now
are May - 6th, 11th, 18th, 19th, 20th, 25th, 26, and 27th.

Please respond with a day that you would prefer, and any explicit days
that
you know you CANNOT attend. This way we can plan for a day that will
allow
as many people as possible.

Please contact [email protected] with any questions.

This blows. Why can they do that? Is it a bunch of pricks in BMWs that bumped us out?

Angry

Sounds like a load of BS.

If you sent them a deposit, then you signed a contract. Sounds to me like you never sent them any money.

That being so, anyone who did send them a deposit for the day is entitled, and your poor excuse is just that. Don't badmouth the track.

So you registered just now to make a post and talk shit to Al, making a bunch of assumptions?

*rolls eyes*

I'll wait for Al to say his piece before I start drawing conclusions...

If I'm wrong, and Al did in fact send the money to BW, he has a contract with them.

Did he or did he not send them a deposit to reserve the date? For him to accuse BW of bumping him for a larger group is absurd (they don't make any more money). It sounds to me like he took everyone's money, and didn't do the proper thing.

Yes, my first post.

The GB on the helmets is an awesome deal BTW, and I have no beef with you.

It is not absurd and it does happen. Our club has had the same thing happen to us at another Northern California track. Although we had a couple of other events there in the past, we got bumped for another club. In fact, another club that I am a member of just got their date bumped also.

Also, at Buttonwillow, there are numerous configurations and I would think the larger or full track configurations cost more to rent. Then you also have clubs that rent the garages and such, so there are chances for the track to make more money with other groups or clubs.

So what is the point of a signed contract? What's the point of sending a deposit?

Soarer: No problem with ButtonWillow. In terms of legality everyone is on the straight and narrow. Thats fine with us because that's what everything comes down to at the end of the day, legality.

In terms of principles, thats a different story. With a small run group you can't get the cart before the horse, money is required to secure the date and for that you need people to sign up AND pay for your event. That didn't happen soon enough this time, and when given the opportunity BW booked a larger event which is also more profitable. That business, and this is why there are no hard feelings.

No worries bruh, I wasn't tryin to start shit -- it just looks odd when someone with 1 post all of a sudden jumps in and starts saying things yanno. (Woulnd't be the first time it's happened)

Thanks for the props on the group buy... I still need more buyers to get that pricing tho. Know anyone that wants a good helmet for cheap?

i can vouch for al and private events' credibility. private events is a small grassroots group of people that want to improve their driving/ drifting skills. we even clean up the track mid-day ourselves becasue we cannot afford the clean-up services of the track. if some big group would rent the whole track config. for a lucrative sum AT HAND, im sure BW wouldnt hesistate.

Last event we had about 10 brooms on Al's pimp mobile and 10 dudes hanging off the side of the car to go sweep up.

Soarer, it's not like Al has a big operation going on. We're just a bunch of dudes who try to throw in money together and Al makes it happen. What if you were the one who took the responsibility of organizing the event? Would you fork out an extra $500 of your own money for the event hoping that you'll get 5 more people to sign up in the next few days? You gotta be more reasonable.

Al, thanks again for the last event on the west loop. It was so damn fun. Also, you fuckin have some serious skills. Your car sounds so mean too. You could hear that thing from 10 miles away. Looking forward to hitting up an event maybe in June when I have the cash flow coming back in.

woopty dooppty. My head hurts. Too much to drink last night. What is this thread about again? Oh yeah...

Buttonwillow are great peoples and a great track. Where did the bad mouthing came from?

Should I explain of whats going on...

Ok, Since you asume.

There are other groups that was supposed to rent April 14th and it also happens to be a bigger group ie renting the whole track but it turn out that BW had place them to May 14th. As soon as I called BW to say Hello to Warren and Carrie, they gave me the bad news. Its understanding, things can get misplaced sometimes. I apologize, but we are not in a perfect world.

I have done multiple track days at BW. I know whats the process.
