sr timing issue

ok guys so my car started to run a bit poorly. redtop w/ injectors, s15 bb, FMIC, FPR, 255 pump etc....

so i checked tps....in spec. so then i check timing. it was way off past 20* like a couple inches!!!!! when i adjusted the CAS w/ tps unplugged it wont even run at 15* BTDC. could my cas be off a tooth? what would cause this. right now its actually running pretty well....and thats with timng way off

I have seen this more and more lately. I think it's just a symptom of a dyning CAS or a bad CAS. You could try re-punching it although in my expreience this usually doesnt help.

What I often do on these cases, suggest a new CAS. Or if you have a power fc or an adjustable EMS which you can manually control the timing map you could try adjusting this and scaling it - x degrees based on where your starting place is. I have had to do this on a couple cars because of the horrible synch on the trashed cas.
