These damn nismo engine mounts

Hey zilvians

Been looking around for new engine and tranny mounts for awhile since mine are pretty worn. After reading reviews on the nismo mounts and they seem pretty good. But man did prices skyrocket in recent months?! The reviews I've seen vary from 2004 to latest 2011 and in the posts everyone gets them for about $200ish shipped. FRSport wants $300 before shipping for them. What's going on? Or do I just suck at online shopping...?

On a side note, Megan mounts are cheaper (again, in the reviews I saw the nismo and Megan mounts were similar priced hence people bashed the Megan's) so I'm thinking to get that if the nismo ones are gonna cost me an arm and leg. On FRSport the Megan engine and tranny mount set is about $180 before shipping...

Or if anyone else have better suggestions I'm open to them. I'm not gonna buy used mounts because that just seems silly.

Thanks guys.

Care to search? lol

They're two other brands of motor mounts that are cheaper and easily attainable. Mount questions get asked every week.

If you're gonna help why don't you say something useful. Such as how they compare to the nismo? You've already taken time to post a reply....

Uhh... he did say something useful, but I guess you are new and have not yet found the search button, and do not expect him to give you a review because there is a huge review thread on Drift Freaqs mounts that is 8 pages long, if you took the time to search on the names he listed you would know how helpful he really was. If you searched Drift Freaq, here or on google you would find a thread with a post from Drift Freaq with a link to a review that gives you way more info than you could ever want. I tell you this and do not simply link to it because I still want you to see how easy and helpful E1 really was. Yeah we are mean you will get over it.

Also megan mounts are worse new than OEMs with 60k on them, about the same quality as autozone mounts.

I did search and find the reviews on them. What I was trying to say is if he's tried them at least give his account on them. Clearly both of you have taken the time to reply, why not say something useful?

I reccommend drift freaq, I use them in my daily, after my pass side stock one ripped and my motor started knocking all over the place. Been there for about 8 months now, no problems.

I'll say something useful...you found the damn review thread, go freaking read it. We're not here to convince you, you're a grown ass man, make your own decisions. Besides, whats good for one person may not be good for you. Meaning some folks like solid billet mounts, some likes soft OEM like mounts, only you can make that decision on what you'd prefer and the best way is by doing more research, maybe even checking out people's set up in their cars.

Also, Nismo mounts sucks anyways, they're barely better than a brand new OEM mounts.

If I wasn't looking for people to chime in on their experience with different mounts I wouldn't have made this thread. And quite honestly, some reviews are pretty vague. But ok, whatever you say boss

I like the nismo ones. But then again, I'm comparing mine to 150k+ mile mounts that have been soaked in oil for a majority of that time.

I'm pretty sure any mount replacement will be better than what you have now.

It's pretty much like what Ray said, not to mention everyone is going to have an opinion of x is better than y. Even though they never used y.

My mounts are pretty bad now too. Engine shakes a lot when I rev it or on start up. Do your nismo mounts hit the STB/hood? Seems like it's a hit or miss for people.

Nismo prices have gone up from what I hear. Everything from 180sx kouki tail lights to nismo power braces.

If your engine is doing that and it's an sr I would really stop driving it and replace the mounts with whatever your little heart desires. SR motors do not like being shaked. It will cause a rocker arm to come off alot easier.

And I have only used nismo mounts and I have had no problems with them. I will be buying some stiffer mounts in time once mine decide to rip apart.
