Email from Jeff B of CO.
Denver 240SX CCA meet: July 27th, 28th, 29th. This IS happening. It's not a matter of maybe, it IS going on. I apologize for the relatively short notice, and because of this, I can push it out just a touch IF we have enough of a need for it to August 10th, 11th, 12th. HOWEVER, that runs smack into the Solo 2 national tour, which would take me out of competition for one if not both days, and would also take one of our activities off the agenda for those of you who are not SCCA members. So, I'd like to keep this on the last weekend of July. If you don't think you can make it that weekend, e-mail me directly and off list, and I'll collect requests and see what it's looking like. Do this ASAP so I know what I need to deal with. I'll post a conclusion and a finalized date probably late Monday (7/1), so get me your requests BEFORE THEN, or they will not be counted. I'm still up for discussion for game plans and such, but I figured I'd leave Friday as drive time for everyone, and leave Friday evening as a wash-up and kick-back time. There's more than plenty to do around here - bars, clubs (18+ scene is actually coming back alive), pool halls... etc... So Friday evening is pretty well covered. Saturday is more drive time. I have yet to plot us a course, but it's time to get some of you low landers up into the fresh mountain air! See how those lungs work at 8,000 ft plus! There's a wealth of nice twisty turny roads up here that are just beggin' to be pounded out by 20 240SXs in rapid succession, and I aim to please while thumbing through my maps. Lots of scenery to be taken in, so have your cameras ready! Saturday evening is still up for grabs. A lot of it depends on how long during they day we're actually on the road, of course. But we'll get somethin' going. Not too late though.... Autocross on Sunday! I'm mid-arrangement with the registration crew for our local Solo2 organization (http://www.rmsolo.org), and we will have club status the event. I don't know if that gets us a discount, or the ability to run together and out of class... More details will be worked out this weekend if I can find the T&S Chief and get a few minutes of his time. I'll let you all know what I find. This is a national caliber club that puts on some great, well organized, and very technical events. I think you'll all be impressed with our local group of auto-x fiends. That should wrap up around 3-4pm, so those courageous (or short of vacation time) of you can have a few hours of light left to drive by before immersion in darkness... I don't have specifics worked out yet for hotels, but I should have that all set to go within the next week. I'll keep everyone updated. For the time being, please reply directly to me (mailto:[email protected]) regarding your interest in attending. Please don't last-minute join on me, 'cause that really makes things very difficult. I'd much rather you canceled at the last minute, so if you have an interest in coming but aren't sure you can make it, let me know now. Finally, this is not just a Midwest thing. If you're out of area, we don't particularly care. Get yer butts up here and have some fun! Drive time to Denver is about 8 hours from Kansas City and Salt Lake City on both sides with moderate stops and moderate speeds. Keep track of your time. There may be prizes for most mileage covered and best time/distance. More on that soon.... Any questions or concerns, drop me a line at the above addy. Please keep this off list. I'll be posting updates as they become available and if it is necessary to draw more people in! Thanks all, and hope to see as many of you as possible! We've got six active locals (maybe more) awaiting your arrival! Cheers - - Jeff Baysinger (a.k.a. Mr. Hyde) '95 240SX SE Denver(ish), CO |

Milk, where in Oklahoma are you and when will you be leaving? I know a 240 owner in OKC and there are 4 of us living in Tulsa/Broken Arrow area. Maybe we can get together before you leave OK.

Yeah, sure I'm up for that.
I'll be in the wonderful town of Thomas ...Woo Hoo! I've never driven there before, only know its like an hour and a half from the Airport at OKC. E-mail me at: [email protected] I'll have one person riding with me who also happens to be a 240sx owner, but he's not That into tuning ...yet. =) I don't have a probelm with traveling to meet you guys, but if my geography of OK is right OKC would be a happy middle. Lemme know, --Milk |
