Man, why does everyone want a cage for tandem?
WSIR don't make you run one.
Maybe its cause they realize there are 2 cars moving in the same directions going under 50mph.
Cause I dont think tracks ask for cages since they have uncaged cars going over 100mph in packs on the big tracks.

um all race cars have cages
even the amature ASA races at Orange Show have roll cages
you should see the video on youtube of yoshi running into cfrost

So my car isnt a race car?
All the SCCA cars arent race cars?
what defines a race car then?
I know my brothers thunderbird drag car didnt have a cage....

Im talking about the Porche club and Bimmer clubs and almost EVERYONE that runs at big willow and streets and HTM.
The majority of the cars don't have cages.

in a sanctioned race for points in a series or part of something like ASA I understand.
SCCA runoffs, sure.
Miata cup, cool.
But just normal people at track days.........?

Seen the video. hard to see whats going on. dont know how a cage helped a front end collision?
And as far as Tbone, Alot of us beginer guys wont be having Door bars anyways.
So a cage is mainly good for rollover protection and the proper angle for your 4/5 point imo.

Not really trying to argue with anyone.
Just curious about the reasoning behind it all.
Even Willow Springs doesnt require cage for tandem.

Had to watch the video a couple times to see what was going on. I get it now. Looks like a pretty cool layout. Maybe possibly make it bigger? It looked like there was a lot of extra room to play with.

If you want to run tandem at an Inland Drift Event you must have a cage with minimum of ONE door bar, and NO the factory door bar does not count.

getting insurance for a parking lot is hard period. unles you have K rails and safety barriers regardless of the spectators and or driver pit area.

No tandem is normal when you dont have proper safety equiptment, folks...

Its a fucking motorsport. Your doors and roofs arent that tough..Neither is understanding the need of a collcage

Jeff, I dont know what a "collcage" is??
That come on the flying miata kit

So is there a cusco cage with Doorbars?
Im not planning on making a Pro Am run anytime soon so I dont mind the curvy front pillars.
Are door bars welded onto something like a Cusco accepted by most tracks? (for the future and getting the right cage planning)

I think it's easy for the people with cages to say that you need a cage to tandem. I mean, you guys already have cages. For us that don't have cages and want to tandem, we are then SOL.

no matter how many people showed up, we will limit the 20 driver/hour, coz we want you to get a good track time.
