How bad is this????

A couple weeks ago I bought a 89 coupe, I asked the guy who I bought it from if there was anything wrong with it and he said NO.

So...... 2 days ago I found a crack on the wheel well of the driver side(first pic) then yesterday I found some welding spots on the front passenger side of the chassis right next to the wheel. It looks like some front end damage that was repaired.

So my question is will this affect the chassis at all or give me problems in the future as my "DD/Drift car"?

Thank You

P.S Should I go back and punch the guy in the face?

Driver Side Crack about 2 inches long

Passenger Side Welding Spots

did you run a title check at all? i made the mistake of buying an s14 having it looked at properly and didn't find out till later it had a dead tranny mount, acid leaks in the trunk, and an oil pan that had a huge dent in it. Looked like the incredible hulk took a punch at the pan or something.

Yeah title was clean but I'm sure the accident was reported to the insurance.

The wises words for the day.

Structurally it looks okay. The front end has been tapped a bit, and pushed in due to a previous fender bender, or "Bumper Humper" which I call it.

It should affect much of the structural rigidity. You're good to go for Daily and track.

Dude take out ur motor and tranny power wash ur engine bay grind down any rust and then either have someone stich weld it or u can do it urself. I'm doing mine rite noe and its coming out great, I'm also painting the engine bay a light gray that way it makes it easier 2 find leaks if one ever occured.

When I bought my s13 it had acid all over the trunk rust on the chassis it self I had 2 go 2 nissan and order them new lmao it was a big mistake for me buying a car at nite but the car means that much more because I've done so much work to it

You bought a used car.

It's your responsibility to see if there's anything wrong with the car. Don't trust random people... especially when money is involved.

Again it isn't the end of the world its not like u just bought it fresh out the dealership with 20 miles on it, if you don't know how to weld then have someone do it for, my s13 had a lot of rust and I'm almost done with it, yea it sucks that you dfidnt see but its to late now. And by the look of the weld who ever did the job sucked cause those tacs where done witht the welding machine in the wrong temp. Also if you want to do it yourself make sure after each time you you make a tac, stop let it cool down because you don't want the wire to burn through.
