Mazda Rev It Up Scores
Fess up -- who did what in the competition? I figure if a national competition with scaled scores isn't sports involving motors -- even if not 240s -- what is?
I scored a 533 and change on my first run (coned the second -- but my score would have been about 590 if clean ). That was good for 1200ish nationally, 180th nationally in my group (I picked club b/c I don't autox); I was 128th best at my location. I figure that's not bad considering I haven't autoxed or driven an FWD car in years. Rev it up Results link |

I was 1st on the leader board for a few hours, so the 'head marketing guy' called me to make sure I would be around so that I could do an interview, get some pictures taken, answer some questions, etc, etc. Alas, he never called back, so I figured they had already found another marketing puppet. Whee! The fastest run I had was with a cone, too.. Coulda gone to Laguna; boo! |

Wasn't the gokart track just an oval..? Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to down-play your victory.. but.. did they end up changing the gokart track to an actual 'track' after the first events they had here in the Bay Area, California?

Halz -- nice work! That's a lot of bragging rights.
I think you needed a 600 to be on the pro board here -- Daddio ran the event here and won with a 740-something If I hadn't coned, I still would have been in 35-40th place! Our go kart track was not an oval only -- it had a few turns. Too bad my 200+ lbs ass got rolled by 140 lbs. kids. Highlight of the go-kart track was that they were also doing drift runs on it in an Rx8.. until he tagged the tirewall and tore the rear bumper off the car. I was standing at the gate ready to go on track and got to see it first hand. rofl. |

Damn Halz, nice job!
I go in two weeks to Atlanta. I think I was like 15th there last year...I think 170something(?) nationwide. So I'm hoping for the best...I guess we'll see in a couple weeks. |

Well BOO me! I set new records on all three practice courses, but just couldn't pull it together for the real deal. Didn't push hard enough the first run, and pushed a little too hard on the second, got crossed up and lost a couple tenths on a good run...but then I hit a cone...so after the goof-up and the cone penalty, my first run was better with only 576pts.
