I watched this when it aired on NBC, looked like it was not an accident to me. What do you guys think?
Now it gives daniel a position for 2nd place I believe around 60pts back now. Last race of the year is DOUBLE points.. anything can happen still..

1. Holy Crap I flippin' love how Ricciardo drives.
2. It didn't appear to be an accident, the in car made it look even malicious and calculated. 3. If you do something to prove a point, how does that not make it purposeful? 4. The battle for 5th was the best part of the race. Good to see Button and Kimi not way down at the bottom. |

^ when i was watching that i was like this guy rosberg! i dont think it was an accident at all.. lewis got the jump i dont see how thats 50/50 like race control said it was..
exactly, he calculated that the damage to his front wing was worth the risk of lewis' tire puncturing. I didnt want to be a guy and just sate that, but thats my belief on what happened out there. He (nico) could have easily stayed in 2nd... he(nico) was there for like less than a lap and got impatient. It seems to me Mercedes doesnt want lewis to win.. cant even get the car to brake correctly. Cant see how you can have problems with that car (lewis) and Nico has a perfect car. Im not bias towards lewis.. I actually think that guy is a douche and a complainer. Espcially in previous years... If a driver like Fernando Alonso was in that mercedes chassis there wouldnt be a competition between drivers 1&2.. yeah agreed battle for 5th was awesome. Daniel drives like a mad man. He made a comment that proved he was beyond his age already, it was after his first battle with Alonso. He said something along the lines of being in a battle like that with another driver and coming out in front is almost as satisfying as a win. No doubt a future F1 champ..

Yeah man. Once Red Bull catches up Ricciardo will be one of the greats. I can see it. Also the fact that he is such a nice guy and genuinely having fun makes it easy to root for him.
Hamilton and Nico can sound like little brats, but I think Hamilton handled all the crap that has been thrown his way this year fairly well. His team has made some stupid strategic descisions, his car seems to break down 4:1 in comparison to Nico's, the stewards do not only seem to not favor him in inquiries, they seem to be against him. When it comes to wheel to wheel racing I have not seen anyone this year aside from Ricciardo be a real challenge to him. Nico is not even close in the "same" car with faster tires as Bahrain proved. So IF Lewis can pull off a championship, that will be an amazing feat. |

If Hamilton wants to bitch about the incident with Nico, then maybe we should review all the times that he's bumped into people when he cut them off to make a turn. . . cry baby. |

Scope, it's really interesting to see the rivalry between Lewis & Nico because they used to be very close friends. All that changed at Monaco when Lewis made that statement basically saying that he grew up in the hood & Nico grew up a spoiled rich kid, so Lewis is hungrier to win... Ever since then, Nico has been stabbing Lewis in the back at EVERY opportunity. The rivalry is both exciting & frustrating to watch, because of their fighting, they've allowed Ricciardo to get within striking distance... The Mercedes boys need to get their shit together before Redbull swoops in for the win 5 years running...

Riccaiardo is already making seb look slow. The car is nothing like the dominate car it has been for the past 4 years, he's driving like alonso who's always around the top 5 but never with a top 5 car.
Nico's tricky that turn is slow motion for an f1 driver he knew exactly what was going to happen. so did the crowd |

I can't agree that Hamilton has done anything nearly as malicious. He has done some questionable stuff being overly aggressive, but his track positioning is absolutely excellent. Borderline blocking.
I meant to say I used to dislike Vettel, but I feel bad for him. I think he is handling being outpaced by Ricciardo very well. Dude has matured. |

I think it goes without saying that the Mercedes' bosses are not happy with Rosberg over this.

I don't see what the big deal is. Nico made an attempt to out brake Lewis at the corner. His front wheel was at Lewis' "door". Nico backed out when he realized Lewis wasn't going to give an inch. They rubbed; Nico lost part of his wing and Lewis got a flat. It's called a RACING INCIDENT. The move was never under investigation by the stewards for goodness sake.
I personally like how Mercedes is allowing their drivers to battle. Screw team order bullshit. |

If anyone wants to give Nico the benefit of the doubt for Monaco, ok, fine. But when things repeatedly keep happening at what point are we just fooling ourselves? Whining on the radio that Lewis didn't just give up a position and let him through? Copying Lewis's driving style after reviewing Lewis's telemetry because Nico's instincts are garbage compared to Lewis. If Lewish didn't have all these DNF we wouldn't be having these conversations. Not to mention Lewis's pitstops keep getting butchered to boot.

Hamilton is by far the better driver and yes Mercedes as a team most likely wants to see Rosberg win the Championship as it would be a German team German driver. If someone wants to complain about Lewis doing dirty things, truthfully none of what has gone on since Schumacher can rival the number of underhanded things he did to get his way. Vettel also has been guilty of not following team orders many times.
Ricciardo is an amazing driver who is definitely better at adapting to cars whereas Vettel does need the car more tailored to his driving style. Spa was indeed exciting for what was happening in the fourth through seventh driving positions. Funny thing is Rosberg has actually come forward and said that the incident he caused was indeed not favorable for the team. It leads me to believe initially it was not intentionally malicious but more just overly aggressive. One cannot say that Hamilton did not have a right to be upset. At least we are not seeing another season of Vettel/Redbull just dominating to the point of boring.

Lewis called Nico out at Monaco & Nico has been driving cheap ever since to get the wins by any means necessary. But ill gotten gains are short lived.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/for...rand-prix.html Nico fined hundreds of thousands & Lewis comes out smelling like a rose. Honestly, I hope they can get their friendship back on track. They've been buddies since they were kids & could build a dynasty together at Mercedes if they get their shit together. But we will see how they look in Italy though.

Just as Hamilton said, nothing happened.
Crash your rival out of a race for a few hundred thousand dollars in fines vs. win world title. In his mind it was worth it. The admission, the fine, the apology all worth F1 doing something about it. |

I've become quite the podcast fiend this year (thank you podcast addict). It just occurred to me to add some F1 podcasts to the mix. So far I've listened to F1Rejects and BBC's Chequered Flag and have really enjoyed them. I'll be going through Sidepodcast, F1Weekly, Formula1Blog, Motorsport Magazine and Sky Sport's F1 podcast during my daily commute to see who else makes the cut, lol.

All will be right when Lewis is back in the lead for the Championship, IMO. But this is a good start.

sim, i think points race is over already. I got a funny feeling, oh and they are like 22+ points from each other.
We are going into the season where courses are tighter, other cars will actually have a chance. Basically more braking, hamiltons car cant brake this year, they just break instead. I think hamiilton will win a few more races, but will also get at least 1 or 2 more DNF. rosberg will have no more DNf and easy coast to #1 in points. Williams will win a race this year, (i hope) IF hamilton closes the gap (points), double DNF will happen before this season ends. oh & final prediction Kobayashi PODIUM in japan.... hahahahah jk... itll be danny boy on top for suzuka!
