any dashcam recommendations?
so the dashcam market doesn't seem to be all that established in the states... bought a livue lb100 from doing a little research and putting my faith in a Korean product.... to my disappointment
for a few days, thought everything was going fine until one night I almost run over a possum. so I thought it'd be cool to come home and show my wife but whattayakno? the file isn't there! so before I say eff it and get a gopro, wanted to ask Zilvia about any of your experience now for the some of you that's going to ask why I need one, it's from having a newborn baby and realizing that all the other drivers on the road are crazy so just want to cover myself

after almost dying in a motorcycle accident that wasnt my fault (yet i was somehow found at fault,) as well as living/driving in socal, ive wanted to get a dash cam.
gopro and the replay arent an option for me. i need something that has an awesome battery life as well as storage space. after looking into actual dashcams i also realized that i want one that can get as close to a 360 view as possible, or at least a view of whats outside my wind shield as well as a view of me (so that i could prove that 'yes i did use my signal' etc) which is something i would recommend for someone else as well

OP: make sure you get one that will recycle the storage space so you don't have to spend time doing it before every drive.

I was looking to purchase one and i thought this was a pretty practical one to use without being obstructive and clean looking.

A little cruise - YouTube
Gopro hero 2, 720p 30fps wide setting. Gopro sat in a drawer for 2.5 months then was used all day at the track and never lost a full charge. |

The thing with Gopros vs dashcams are that
Gopros are expensive They need to be turned on when driving Dashcams sold nowadays have features like G-meter and park recording, they are like surveillance where theyre on when needed |

Ill lean more towards Amazon because there are actual reviews and their A-Z Claim/defective/return policy for sellers are >1%. Meaning every 100 items sold, only 1 should be allowed defective. Otherwise seller can get suspended. |

Then you are voiding your warranty on the camera because you have to drill through the door on the side as well unless you cut the whole side of the case off. Or don't do any mods and go buy a camera like the replay where you can just keep the back cap off and keep your warranty or by the charge kit to keep it sealed up wow!

you drill a hole through the side of the clear plastic housing, and put the cable in. you arent voiding shit.
