sr20det redtop ARP main studs
my sr20det redtop going for ARP main studs that will arrive tomorrow.
but just found some horror stories about two rear bolts being to long for the oil pan and damaged threads / wrong torque specs.. arp #202-5402 http://www.frsport.com/ARP-202-5402-...99_p_1948.html can somebody clear things out? should i reuse my nissan studs and send them back? or use the ARP and how? with loctite or with the arp lubrication or both? cheers Last edited by R3cK; 03-23-2017 at 09:51 AM.. |

Reuse or purchase OEM mains. They are good for 500WHP +. If you get ARP mains, you MUST align hone the mains and you better make sure a machine shop is capable of doing it.

Refer to the FSM for the proper torque. Unless the bolt is stretched (at which point, it's useless anyways), the torque should be the same as in the FSM
But again, please refer to the FSM for the correct and relevant information . |

The main bolts are re-usable, they're not torque to yield fasteners. The ARP studs have issues on the RWD blocks because ARP designed them for use on the US version of the SR20 which is FWD with a different upper oil pan. If you want a performance fastener made with ARP material we have studs that fully bottom out into the block and clear the RWD oil pan which are good for over 500hp.
