ahh man, don't get rid of the front bumper. That's one of the coolest things about the 89-90.

i cant find that little lip, about an inch or two long, to go on the bottom,  if i could get that i would not need the newer bumper, i just want it to look lower before i get my springs...

thanx

Awesome another person with an early s13. I have an '89 fastback and I am so gettin ready to start to mod it. One of the coolest cars around. all future tense right now but here is what i am lookin at:
Turbo system(either the KA or an SR or CA swap)
Shocks/springs
sway bars
strut bars
new rims
paint job
Bomex body kit
and full interior work as well

im gonna keep mine clean, i deal with the turbo when my engine is on the outs, i'll keep it cool, drop it, rim it, race it (against civics hahahahaha)

my stereo is too big for the car, i have to have the trunk deadened before i blow a hole through the rear windshield

I love the '91 - '94 front end myself, so I totally wouldn't blame you for switching 'em, but since quite a few people also love the pre - '90 bumper, see if you can find someone to just trade with.  I think they're the same size, and need only holes in different spots to be mounted correctly.

And, yes, I know it's a 'front bumper cover' and not actually a bumper, but whatever.
