SR SR making a screaming sound

I have a s13 redtop with stock t25, and recently it started making a sort of screaming sound when I get into boost. If i drive normal it does not make the sound, only when I hit the gas hard. So I think one of the fins is chipped, bent, or something of he sort. Can anyone confirm this, and can i be fixed without getting a new turbo? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a boost/vac leak.

sounds like your manifold to turbo gasket. is it the stock gasket or metal? if its the stock thats deff what it is. do you smell fumes more ? and it will get worse a lot worse if thats what it is. youll know cuz it will start to sound like your running open headers lol and you wont boost as much

If it sounds like a scream, I would go with either exhaust manifold, turbo--->manifold, or turbo--->elbow gasket being leaky.

I had this before and it sounded like a high pitched shreaking....

If it is more of a vibrational, metal sounding noise, it could be turbo fins hitting the walls of the housing.

I had this problem with my big 16g. It was an exhaust leak, it was very very loud. Either that or your turbo is about to grenade. Good luck with the fix!

They are the stock gaskets, and I have noticed fumes more than I normally do.

I have a similar noise coming from my turbo. When hitting boost, near 5000rpm from inside the car you can hear a high pitch "zing" It still hits proper boost, and drives good. Not sure as to what it is, its currently in storage so I will try to look at it without being able to drive it. I did replace the gasket between the turbo and manifold about 5000km's ago... i dont think that it should be worn out already. Any advice would help. THanks!

check for Shaft play on the comprssor wheel

Usually when the turbos blow the comprssor wheel will make contact on the wall and make a buzzy screaming noise
