Im not 100% positive what other batteries fit in the engine bay with fmic's. I do know you can use a small miata battery. Other than that, relocate it to the trunk.

I used an Odyssey slim-fit dry cell battery. It fits in fine next to your IC pipe.

I had bought a Deka ETX14 that fit there perfect...but my car would die if I turned my lights on. There was not enough power to run everything. I relocated to the truck with a full size battery and that solved the problem.

i've used small batteries, but now i've got it in the trunk. Cleans up the bay, no muss, no fuss. Just make sure you put a circuit breaker in the line to prevent fire, etc if it ever shorts out.

throw some weight in that wagon you're draggin'.

Yours looks nice. I used a marine battery box from WalMart. LOL Mine is still bolted and strapped down though. It's not moving and that's all that matters.

which gauge cable to use when relocating battery to trunk?

can you run 2 battery in 1 car? 1 to crank the motor and the second to do everything else?

Westco Miata Battery or Autozone Miata Battery. Fits nice and snug sideways. No need for relocating anything. Both my cars run miata batteries, starts fine and both have audio systems.

Are output really important for the motor? I thought all battery's generally output to optimum level as long as the alternator is doing its job?

i also vouch for the miata battery! sometimes i dont start my car up for weeks and it cranks over first time all the time (even with the alarm on the whole time) miata batteries are serious business.

From what I remember that's really bad and can mess a lot of things up, it's been years since I've read about it though, it was mainly discussed in car audio and alarm threads. That would be your best bet for research.

^^Why did you put the battery right there on that hump? instead of mounting it on a flat surface? (Example: In the trunk, either on the left or right side of it.) I'd figure you would have more of a chance having that box break off where it's at.

I used a Duralast battery from Advanced Auto, they make a small slim battery in the Gold Series thats what i'm running right now, until I get around to relocating the battery to the trunk.

WoolyS14DET:
+1 rep
That's exactly where I had mine located at in my S14. Your's is a balla looking battery box!

hey Wooly, I set mine up with that fuse just like yours when I first did my install and that shit kept popping no matter how big the fuse? I got them from a car audio place and I could never figure that one out.
