just a tad past 115mph and then the gas cutoff came and ruined all the fun. The funny thing about it is that i was racing a turbo supra (like a 91) on the freeway and i was actually winning but as soon as i hit that gas cutoff, he just flew right past me. Too bad...

According to a Car and Driver article a while back (long while), the s13 Cd is .31

Max speeds in a factory 5spd s13 is going to be about 114 MPH, when the governor kills it. My older '89 auto hit as high as 130ish, but it's very hard to be certain as the guages stop at 110

I've also gotten mine to the fuel cutoff--somewhere between 114 and 122mph (does anyone know where it really cuts off? it seems everybody has a different answer). But the way it slams into the fuel cutoff, I believe it would otherwise be capable of 135-ish.
Sorry...don't know about the Cd.

Oops...misnomer posted while I was writing mine, so disregard my post in favor of his facts.;)

But anyway, if the '89 can hit 130ish, then the DOHC probably will do 135ish or better with the 10 more hp...ya think?

15 more hp, and yah it should be able to push up to 135 or 140+. Also keep in mind my '89 was auto tranny (dunno how the gearing ratios differ). I don't recall where my tach was exactly, but I'd like to say around 5k-5500, and the road was a wee bit hilly too. Sad thing is when I first hit my fuel cuttoff I was beating the shit out of a very aggressive Grand Am driver. Started at about 70 MPH in fourth, shifted to fifth at 110, had at least five car spaces on him, and boom, I drop back to 110 again as he puts by. That was just embarrassing

I recently had my car to 122, and regularly have it around 110. At 122mph, I was at 5200 rpm in an auto tranny.

I was coming up on one of my friends who was driving a geo prizm and just as i was passing him, imagine my surprise when the fuel suddenly was cut off and i began to drop back. But i let off and then it kicked right back in and i sped past him. But only to make a left turn onto the next road, attempt to pass my other friend but was surprised by an on coming car and when i swerved and applied my brakes they decided to lock up (i assume because of my trashed rotor) This sent me into a spin, into a ditch, my tire popped off my beautifull stock aluminum rims and i was going backward in the same direction untill i came to a stop when i hit a telephone poll. Needless to say the car is wasted. Crushed the rear portion of the frame and smashed my gas tank. oi. ALWAYS make sure your breaks are in perfect working order. :-)
