Have you checked the battery? I mean come on, common sense tells you, you need voltage to start a car. Did you try jumping it?

Try checking the battery ground, on my car I got just a click when I turn my key, then nothing else, I took my ground off and filed the end that connect to the car/motor and put it back on, it struggled but it cranked afterwards, then it started knocking...

Why couldnt you just change the starter yourself. Pretty simple thing. Unplug the battery, raise the car up, disconnect the 2 plugs/wire into it, 2 bolts off, starter out, put in the new one and reverse the process. Fuck paying somebody couple hundred bucks for a 30 min job.
