Recommendation for a Brake Pad for track use(30min session)
I have Q45 brakes, which makes pad selection slightly difficult. After I season and break in the rotors with some autozone pads, I want to pick up pads for track use. The car will see 20-35 minute track sessions.
Thanks!

Ask for Matt, and tell him that Charles with the black 240 sent you (the shop is like 30 miles from me.). Tell him your setup, and what you plan to do with the car, and he should be able to put something together for you. They really know their stuff.

Or another option is to contact Andy @ http://www.cobaltracing.com , he set me up with some Hawk Blues (race only, switch them out when you're going back to normal driving). They kick ass and will not fade! (get badass fluid too)

I haven't seen too many good reviews of the Blues recently.

I will call that carbotech place.
Street use is more or less a non-issue. Other than the occational spirited drive on the street, this car will ONLY see road courses and auto-x.

Carbotech.
Besides having great pads, the customer service is excellent, and they will build/make almost any pad you want. They will even put compound on blank backing plates if you need them too. |

i'm not too sure if they make these pads for ur car but they are good..not sure if u guys heard of them but they're called Akebonos or Akebonoes..forgot how u spell them. They are ceramic pads and have virtually no brake dust. They are very strong, need no warming up or "break in" period, and will definitely be good for track use. My friends that work at a shop recommend them.

the Akebono pads look like they are typically OEM pads, not track pads. I couldn't find any good testimonies to their track worthiness..
they did appear to offer some pretty nice benefits though.. ultra low dust, and noise.. good for street pads. Unfortunately they don't list a part for the z32.. Cobaltfriction is also a great company from what I've heard. I haven't tried their pads yet, but I probably will one of these days.

The akebono pads are about the best OEM replacement pads you can get. But, they are not track pads. I wouldn't trust ANY street pad for track use no matter how good they are for the street.

180sx pads == 90's Maxima pads.
I haven't used cobalt's own pads (if they even have them for us), but the owner Andy is distributor for Hawk stuff as well. I'll be trying Carbotech next though. Edit: On the top post I gave the wrong URL, it's http://www.cobaltfriction.com/ |
