i was under the hood today and noticed that this was not connected to anything. i looked around and found a loose hose i connected it and the car started to idle a little less.
just wanted to make sure they are supposed to be connected.
what is this part called?

That's the VAC source that goes to the FPR.

^ can't tell from the pic in your sig but how are the wires held in place?
Zip ties?
