Budget track brakes?

Can anyone definitively say if fresh stock rotors and HP+ pads are going to perform worse on the track than Q45 front brakes with axxis ultimates all around?

I ask because Q45 rotors are considerably more and if I can get the same brake performance without upgrading then that money will be better spent elsewhere.

FYI, running a S14 blacktop should have between 250-300whp at the track.

Well I will tell you this...My buddy was running stock brakes with drilled rotors and Hawk pads on his track car, but when he went SR he put on Q45 brakes.

your question is really vague... If cost matters, DONT buy hawk. hp+ is 80-100+ per pair of pads, ultimates are 40bucks?

if i had a choice, q45 and ultimates vs stock and hawk hp+
i choose the q45 setup.

rotors are not that expensive... ask around, and get price match etc, autozone/kragen/pepboys all do price matching.

on a track car, the 3 most important things(imo) are....
1. brakes
2. tires
3. heat(too much)

250-300hp?? DONT CHEAP OUT ON BRAKES/TIRES,
one crash and you will regret buying shitty brakes.

I'm running HP+ pads with R33 brakes and they are insane. They far exceeded my expectations. I'd give them a try and if it's not enough then you can sell them or upgrade later. You should replace your brake fluid and invest in some stainless braided lines though.

This has been discussed since 1990. Search.

Turn the caps lock off.

If in fact you're really that damn stupid, create a new thread instead of trashing a current one by someone else.

I'd run a better pad on stock calipers with fresh rotors

than

a crappy pad, on bigger calipers with fresh rotors

(if that makes any sense)

You claim to hav ea track car, but want to skimp 200 dollars on brakes. Why not just work a few more days/weeks, save your cash, and then purchase the better stuff?

Lots of selection for the Z32 brakes. Ferrodo, Hawk, Axxis, etc.

Check out SPLparts.com for starters. Kuah will take care of ya.
