Auto to manual swap help with harness.
I'm in the middle of my swap and following a couple of write-ups. My car is a 1998 and I have a 1998 manual tranny with harness. I'm just a little confused if I completely remove my auto harness and replace with manual or splice into the auto harness..?
Any help would be appreciated guys. thanks, -Chris

There is no place for the manual harness to plug into. You have to convert the auto tranny harness to work with the manual tranny. Green and black on the 3rd plug down on the 2nd pic will be for reverse lights.
For the neutral and fifth gear sensors you will have run a wire form the sensor to the ECU. |

You only use the speed sensor,02sensor off the lower harness. For reverse/neutral you just wire it up with new wires being run http://www.ka24development.com/cwilf...lectrical.html
To start the car you just take that connector that goes up top and keep like 2' of wire join the ends together so it creates a completed circuit for the car to start. |

Thread Jack Commence.
I have a similar problem. I have a 97 and am in process of swapping from a 97 auto KA to a 98 KA with engine harness and manual tranny. Can I just switch out the harness and be done with it?

Engine harness is exactly the same. Lower harness is again useless, use what you have, hardwire the rest.

The engine harness can be swapped, but the only difference is the TPS. I'd leave it in the car unless it's already loose.

Is there a guide with pics that you guys have for the Reverse Lights hardwiring? I've been looking for one but I can't find any and the Heavy Throttle link I have is broken...
