ok, so i just picked up a sparco seat for 100 bucks....it has the hardware but it was out of a vw so it won't mount up. i can't really afford the 110 dollars for the base and an additional 65 for the sliders...so anyone ever mounted one of these before? homemade style? here is what the base looks like.

If you can't afford $110, how do you put gas in your car?

$110 is cheap for a direct bolt in piece. And judging by your questions, you should go that route as you don't seem competent enough to try anything else.

I think he's just trying to prove a point man, If you are in college and have no extra cash.. why are you modifying your car? specially a bucket seat, just doesn't make sense.

Either way its going to cost you.

$120 for some used rails and sliders and if you decide to get it modified that will be a good $75-$100 if you get it done by someone reputable.

I'm smart enough to know that if the rails won't magically appear out of my ass for free, I'd build my own brackets using steel stock, it's as simple as setting the seat in the car, measuring the length and angles needed, then cutting and bending new mounting feet for it to sit on and bolt down. After that, weld them on so they don't sheer off in a head on collision, they type you're prone to have (hopefully anyway) as you've proven you're a fucking moron.

Seriously though just buying some rails/sliders is worth it considering the time and materials, well mostly the time you will spend trying to make your own.

how have i proven that i'm a moron? by not putting a ' on you're? you know nothing about me. at all. i actually go to Wyotech...so i know a fair bit about cars there. sorry not enough room in the college parking lot. but there is at the drift meets which i attend. sorry 240's are a good budget car...it will be done one day but for now i just scrape by and i found a good deal so i got the seat. and if you were referring to you want me to get in a head on collision, because that's how it sounded...then you really are a dick. i honestly don't give two fucks how much you know about 240's. i just asked a simple question and didn't need some faggot like you who is gayer than a barrell full of dicks to respond.

hey cheap ass, get a wedge engineering seat bracket. you'll also need a sparco slider or 'universal' one.
