new new!
hey guys glad to be a new proud owner of a s13 and a member of the zilvia community!
i recently purchased my first 1989 240sx s13 silvia front minus the bumper i bought it for 2800 from a guy in ny, inside it has a sr20 redtop swap with a s15 6 speed trans, although frame rails are rusted, was this a good deal? the guy i bought it from said it needed a tune but i to be honest im really a newb and dont know how to get started with this. a couple of my buds suggested to buy another shell and then tune i want the silvia community's perspective on this. right now i dont have pictures of the frame rails but i do have pics of the exterior im aiming for a pretty sick daily something i could enjoy on a daily basis, while turning heads whereever i go, i dont need 500whp, but i can settle with 350whp. also a pretty dope stance would be considered. any suggestions? http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...05253645_n.jpg http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...91971572_n.jpg i recently got rear ended in this picture oh what a day http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...20133523_n.jpg so here it is guys, thanks for reading my wall of text and cant wait for the response! |

damage doesnt look bad to the body. Depending on how bad the rust is and how bad the rear damage actually is you might be better off getting another shell. Or, if you can weld pull engine and trans and go to work. These cars are very old and usually need alot of tlc before making them a perfect car again. Gl with the build!

yeah i will def. take a picture of the frame rails today and the only reason i came up with the welding and fabrication option is because i live in the area where a shop called j.r. custom is located also known as j.r.m. auto. the main guy there "jr." def. knows his stuff and they do welding and many type of fabrication in the shop.
and my plan is to actually make a silvia k clone without the rhd or maybe with depending on finding the shell lol. and as for the speedo no it doesnt work im actually looking into how to fix that, if theres any thread that has any sort of DIY to fix that it'll be greatly appreciated. |

Well the rear end doesn't look too bad, just pull the rear bumper and you probably just need a new support, how bad is the rust under the car? Probably spend that
Much on the swap and 6spd alone so not bad, worst comes to worst just buy another shell cause you already have the full complete swap and you know it's running. |
