Ima just try out my BMW battery cable since it actually ment to have the battery in the back. Orded 2 250amp fuses(just as a spare) and fuse holder and my distribution box 2 1/0 gauge outputs and. 4 4/8 inputs. My battery is dead lol. Any recommend battery I should get?

I did mine. Used a amp and sub wire kit I believe it came with some 0 gage wire and a 100 anl....100 amp will work fine. But only cuz I couldn't find any higher and I needed it done. But 100 amp worked on my base model s14

why do you guys use a fuse on the power wire? there is no fuse in the system to begin with, why add one?

Because u can't run battery power which is
usually 12 volts or more to your ie.. fan or really any other accessories or switch.

The battery fuse is to protect for an over surge on your battery

Ohhh i get what your saying. I thought you were saying it would regulate the voltage. But you were really saying it would protect accesories from power spikes.

ran my wires to my distribution box and my bmw power wire connected to mu digital fuse holer reading 12.5v and car turned on. thanks everyone

Any thoughts about battery in trunk with a 5 gallon fuel cell in place of the spare tire. We purchased the vehicle and the idoit owners (we're dumb for probably buying it too) ran power cables all the way beneath the car and back into the cabin through the trunk /cabin wall and "mounted" the battery behind the passenger seat. The electrical work done is a complete mess, and I have no idea what's up with the engine harness, 14.5 converted s14 sr20det, headlights and fuse box.

You'll be fine, just keep the power wires well insulated and away from the fuel source.

since this is a battery relocation thread, can anyone recommend (for a clean racecar) a good battery box that works well, is sturdy, and looks good. Dont want those black ugly ones.

Thanks. Think it's better to weld down a box or just bolt it down? Also, I have a carbon fiber trunk with a carbon gt wing and Trunk pins, which is causing there to be a water leak, and the biggest reason to why I've hesitant to do this yet. No sure if a reputable body shop could take care of this problem, or if it's better for me to just go and buy a different shell.

Yes, I suggest getting larger washers than what the kit comes with. Other than that I have no complaints about this box.
