I agree, in the end it's up to the driver to bring it. I totally bombed the course and drove home 6 hrs upset that I didn't come more prepared. I guess I shouldn't switch to a new car right before an event. There is no excuse for me. I need to pick up my game and driver better. Either way, I will be back and ready to go. Congrats to all the drivers out there. Congrats to the drivers that placed in the top five!!!

i absolutely agree with you I was not on and I really only have myself to blame and i wouldnt hold anyone responsible accept myself the advice you gave us after the first heat was some of the most helpful points ive ever recieved. if knew the limited time frame i would have chose this event to not be the first of the season that was my biggest issue. i thought " hey i havent driven in 6 months it will only take 5-6 runs to get back into it" I was partly right by the end i loved the track and could clear the 1st and 2nd turns. I dont want you to think im talking negatively toward anyone who helped put the event together or participated. in the end i learned more by screwing up the whole thing.

The other drivers probably felt the same, because they ALSO couldn't drive. All I saw all day was people NOT feinting, NOT clutch kicking, NOT using momentum, and not initiating right EVER.

Just my opinion.
who are you?? and where you a driver?? because its not just me and one other person saying the course conditions where challenging. It was alot of people. And I love the tight course, its the change in the courses grip that made it hard. The long drift was more of a personal challenge for me. I like that

saying the Drivers "could not drive" is a bold statement! I can drive. I explained my challenges above previously. And I ebraked, fient, and clutch kicked the courners, some times more than once.

The second corner proved to be an initialtion challenge for me. anyone else??
My car wanted to under steer after the clutch kick for some reason, and I would have to ebrake it quik, fricken double initiation, lame I think I just was to high with KA RPM's in second, and couldn't get the torque. (next time 3rd to 2nd gear clutch lock,....live and learn)

And dont bring a 140HP SOHC to this track unless you really like a challenge like me

I qualified for formula d in a full interior s14 with cage and 17's with 225's and stock ka on a much harder course with a wall that ate 14 cars that day. You had it easy believe me. And Judging criteria was much stricter at fd. Dont blame the track or the car it was your driving and lack of experience that cost you getting a license nothing else. I have seen the videos of your runs even the runs that you say were your last of the day and you were far from doing good on the course so it wouldnt have mattered if you got 100 practice runs you still wouldnt have gotten a license. This is my OPINION and I am sorry if you dont want to hear it but if you want to improve you need to. Dont blame the car its not the cars fault. If you woulda driven the car to its full potential even if it wasnt as nice looking as the 300-400hp cars you woulda licensed. The judging took into account your car. Plus your on 15's ka with 15's is soooooo easy to drive.

Well, if you can tell all that about me and my driving, then please. Give me some pointers ?? I run Horse Thief Mile by monthly. Done Irwindale a few times and am at Balcony at least once a month. and I am at the point were I am teaching myself.

So anything you got for me would be a big help!

and that goes for all the licensed drivers!

I have no problem helping out, in fact if you were ever at any events I was at I am sure I would have offered to help. Its hard for me to tell you how to fix your mistakes without seeing you in person and riding with you. I can tell your initiations are kinda weird at least in those videos and your countering late. But why you are countering late I dont know I would have to ride with you to see exactly what is going on. If we are ever at the track together by all means ask I will help.

^sweet, I could use some input.

I have an idea of was going wrong for me at Nopi. The sticky of the track was making it hard to initiate with my low HP, especially the 2nd corner. It would try and understeer, so i would then ebrake late.
And once I got to the slick part of the iside of the corners, i couldn't seem to counter fast enough to "set" an angle.

anyways, I go to all the 626DRIFT events. it looks like we are running Horse Thief Mile this weekend, anyone interested??

My coverage of event

[ame]http://youtube.com/watch?v=aWTS2WP4HG8[/ame]

I didn't have too much footage to work with since the course was "so challenging" for most of the people there.

hi!!

as for this event, YES it was a challenge to drift this track....its soooo tight that if you made a mistake on entry or not have power to push the car than yeah either you go off track or straighten out.....well to all the people that didnt get the license, I know it sucks but you know what...theres always next time....see you guys on the next events..!!
