I was wondering if the Greddy water pump pulley that comes in the set is over sized or not. One of my buddies down here was running an Yashio over sized water pump pulley and his temp always stayed low no matter what he was doing. I want to replace all the pulleys with aftermarket ones and if the Greddy one is oversized then I dont have to buy any others. Thanks for the info

Nope. It is stock sized. Just lighter.

If you wanna keep your temps low just get a Koyo Alumin. Rad with a Nismo Thermo and (E-Fans Optional)

I have that set up and my temps never go above 70*C

Thanks for the info. I guess I have no choice but to get a Yoshio or Stance oversized water pump pulley.

My friend was running a standard 2 core koyo and the regular SR clutch fan. his temps never went above 73* degrees with the A/C on with the oversized pulley. But my other friend was running a 3 core aluminum from a R33 and a dual fan setup and his temp would go above 80* when we was pushing it hard.

Im not saying that I dont trust you im just saying that its just a matter of your setup I guess. So I will see how my temps are after the build and see if I need it.

Anyways of course thanks for the info guys. Definatly comes in handy.

With the stock pulley the water pump spins way too fast at higher RPM, causing cavitation in the water, which is basically like the pump isn't pushing any water at that point, so it doesn't matter if your car was running straight off of dry ice at that point, it'll still get hot and eventually overheat.

With the oversized pulley, the pump actually gets slowed down a bit, and when you're beating on your car at a high RPM, the pump is now working in a sweet spot since it's slowed down, and water is being circulated around the entire cooling system, which is why it still runs cool and doesn't get hot.

Get the pulley.
